We’re looking forward to introducing you to Stacia Greene. Check out our conversation below.
Stacia, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiplies when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts with a moment of stillness and intention. I usually begin my mornings with journaling, a devotional, and a quick morning read to center myself and set the tone for the day. After that, I review my daily to-do list to get a clear picture of what needs my focus. Depending on how many client meetings I have scheduled, I make sure to carve out time to head to the gym, as it’s my way of staying grounded and energized before diving into work. Every day looks a little different, but I always aim to balance productivity with mindfulness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Stacia G., and I am a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Stay Selective Enterprises. Through this umbrella, I lead several business ventures including Stay Selective Event Planning, Selective Assistants Virtual Agency, and Coremunity.
What makes my work unique is the mission behind it: to empower people to create balance, structure, and clarity in their lives. I focus on building systems, tools, and resources that not only support entrepreneurs but also serve everyday people navigating the challenges of life and business. From digital products such as to-do lists, time blocks, to community spaces that foster accountability and growth, my brand has become a go-to hub for self-help, organization, and personal development.
My journey is rooted in the belief that true success begins with structure. By giving people practical tools and strategies, I help them turn their goals into reality while maintaining balance in the process. Right now, I’m continuing to expand these platforms with the vision of reaching more individuals who are ready to embrace self-growth, build confidence, and step into the life they deserve.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world tried to tell me who I should be, I was a curious, creative, and determined young woman who believed that anything was possible with faith and hard work. I loved bringing visions to life, organizing, creating, and helping others see the potential in their own ideas.
But life has a way of pressing you into molds that do not always fit. For a long time, I thought success had to follow a rigid path, and I believed school was the only way to reach my goals. Education was always important to me because it gave me structure and discipline, but it also became the place where I tied my worth to performance. At times, I feared failing, not just for myself but for the people who believed in me. That pressure pushed me forward, but it also left me questioning whether I was enough when doors did not open right away.
What I have since learned is that denied does not mean denial. A closed door is not a final answer, it is often just redirection. That realization gave me the courage to embrace new opportunities, even when they did not look like the path I once thought was required. Along the way, I faced imposter syndrome, wondering if I belonged in certain rooms or if I was truly capable of building the visions I carried inside me. But I came to understand that the very things I felt unqualified for were often the exact spaces I was being prepared to impact.
That shift in perspective became the foundation of my entrepreneurial journey and ultimately led to the creation of Stay Selective Enterprises. Through Stay Selective Event Planning, Selective Assistants Virtual Agency, and Coremunity, I now focus on building systems, tools, and communities that empower everyday people and entrepreneurs to bring balance, structure, and clarity into their lives.
So before the world told me who I had to be, I was simply me: creative, resilient, and passionate. And today, I still carry that same essence, but now with the wisdom, faith, and structure to make it meaningful for others who may also be navigating closed doors or quiet doubts.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized that my story was not something to be ashamed of, it was my power. As a Black woman in corporate America, I was constantly confronted with the idea that I had to prove myself. Nothing was handed to me. Every opportunity I earned came through resilience, long hours, and the determination to never settle for less.
At first, that pressure felt like a burden, like I was always playing catch-up or trying to prove I belonged. Over time, I learned to reframe it. Instead of carrying it as weight, I started using it as fuel. Being forced to prove myself gave me grit, sharpened my skills, and made me fearless about going after what I wanted.
Now I see my journey as my greatest strength. My pain became my proof, proof that I cannot be overlooked, proof that I can build my own path, and proof that I do not just survive in spaces that were not built for me, I thrive in them.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A project I am committed to, no matter how long it takes, is expanding Stay Selective into something much bigger than a brand. For me, it is about creating a community and a legacy. I want it to be a platform that not only inspires intentional living and productivity but also connects people and gives back to our youth.
I believe in the power of representation and resources. Too often, young people, especially those who look like me, do not see enough examples of success that feel within reach. I want to change that by building programs, mentorship opportunities, and resources that show them what is possible.
This is not something that can be built overnight, and I am okay with that. Every step I take with the brand, whether it is launching products, hosting events, or creating spaces for accountability and growth, is part of a larger mission. No matter how long it takes, I am committed to ensuring that Stay Selective becomes more than just a name. It will be a movement that pours back into the next generation.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
What I think people may most misunderstand about my legacy is that they might only see the polished version of success without recognizing the struggle, sacrifice, and resilience behind it. From the outside, people may see the titles, the businesses, and the growth of Stay Selective, but they will not always see what it took to get here.
As a Black woman in America, I am constantly aware that I have to prove myself in spaces that were not built for me. The pressure is always doubled to perform, to represent, and to push past barriers that others do not have to face. At the same time, being a serial entrepreneur means taking risks when there was no blueprint, no safety net, and no guarantees. Every business I built was a testament to my willingness to bet on myself when no one else would.
Even in my educational journey, attending a (PWI) predominantly white institution for my undergraduate degree, I felt the weight of being “the only one” in many rooms. Those experiences sharpened my determination and made me committed to creating spaces of belonging for others who come after me.
So when people look at my legacy, the misunderstanding may be the assumption that it was effortless or inevitable. The truth is that my legacy is rooted in grit, courage, and endurance. It is about pushing through spaces that were not always welcoming, turning obstacles into stepping stones, and proving that you can thrive even when the odds are against you. That is what I want to leave behind, not just the image of success, but the story of resilience that made it possible.
