We recently had the chance to connect with Tasha Wright Ford and have shared our conversation below.
Tasha , a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day right now looks like this. I wake around 6:15am, get ready for work, help get the kids things ready for school and breakfast as we run out the door to make it to school on time. I then drop my son off at school around 8:30 and head straight to the office where i start seeing my patients by 9;15-9:30. Following work i rush to pick up the kids (or at least one of them) from school and sports, thenhead home. I change out of my work clothes, talk to my husband for a min and then start getting supper ready. Following supper i help the kids with whatever school work they have and then start the night routine of showers and bedtime. Once i have the kids down, my husband and I watch one of our shows and then head to bed…to start it all over again the next day!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tasha Wright Ford and i am an RN who specializes in injectables and fillers, IV therapy, PRP, and hair restoration. Our office offers a wide variety of services including weight loss therapy, teeth whitening, eyelash extensions, facials, ear piercing, red light therapy, chemical peels, and laser treatments just to name a few. I have been an RN for over 21 years, specializing in aesthetics for the past 15 years.
Three years ago my best friend and business partner and I joined forces and opened our office Rouge & Wright Medical Aesthetics. We wanted to offer more of a boutique practice, in more of an intimate setting making our patients/clients top priority. As we all know, time is of the essence so we wanted to try and provide more of a one stop shop, making personal care a little easier.
In three years we have managed to build our practice, tape a reality docuseries about us and our med spa, create our own brand named Beyond Beauty creating our own medical grade skin care line, perfume, and custom jackets…..and aren’t done yet!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My husband and children were my driving force. Going from a single mom of two children for five years, to now married with a blended family of 6 children i knew i always wanted to do something that could help support my family as well as give me more flexibility to around, involved, and more available to them. Starting my own practice was always a dream, but without them behind me and their support this would never have become my reality. .
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me that no matter the situation or circumstances, it isn’t over until you say and decide that it is. I have always told my children no matter what happens in life, no matter who you lose or what things you lose, no one can ever take away your integrity and dignity unless you let them. Let’s face it, life is tough and at some point you will face some adversity but no matter what, don’t let someone else or some unfortunate circumstance frame who you are. You may be hurt, and it may be tough, but by keeping your head up and taking one step in front of the other……anything is possible. Looking back at my life just a short 7 years ago, being homeless, having lost everything, left with two children and having no family in Arizona, nobody including myself would have believed i would be where i am today. Trust me, it didn’t happen overnight. There were many tears, long days and nights, utter exhaustion and doubt, but two littles who were counting and depending on me and i was not going to let them go through anything we had previously, again. There is no amount of success that could have taught me and brought me to where i am today. I chose to use my situation and circumstances as a stepping stone rather than a crutch, forcing and giving me the momentum i needed to push forward one day at a time to get where i am today. Leading by example to my children showing them that no matter what, you have the final say.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My business partner and best friend Merrill has always had a love for all things makeup! She is one of the most talented makeup up artists i know and since the day we opened she has always dreamed of having her own makeup line. I have told her from the start that no matter what, or how long it takes….we will one day have our own makeup line. Without her our business would not be what it is, nor would we have our brand Beyond Beauty, done our reality show, or developed any of our lines or products. We together are the brand, and the business and i wont stop until her dreams have come true. Without her, or her family, i would not be where i am today and for that i am completely committed to making this dream of hers become a reality!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When i am gone, i hope people say that i was a good mom, wife, daughter, sister, and nurse and that i truly cared. I hope they know that i gave it all i had and no matter the circumstances or situation, i tried my best and looked to each of them as family and friends, rather than clients and patients. I hope they know that i built my business and practice for them and my children. Giving my clients the time and energy that each and every one of them deserved, all while making a legacy for my children. I hope they say and know that no matter how tough things got, I never gave up, and because of them was able to do what i loved and had passion for.
