An Inspired Chat with Teresa Calderon-Rouse of Colorado Springs

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Teresa Calderon-Rouse. Check out our conversation below.

Teresa, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, my greatest joy comes from simply living life to the fullest. I love spending quality time with my family and friends, and now that my son and daughter-in-law have moved here, having us all together in the same state has brought me so much peace and happiness. When I’m not with loved ones, I enjoy diving into hobbies that keep me inspired and fulfilled.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Teresa, and I’m the owner of Sinful Beauty. Beauty has always been more than just a career for me—it’s a way to help people feel confident, empowered, and celebrated for who they are. At Sinful Beauty, we specialize in creating personalized experiences, from lash extensions to hair and other beauty services, all with a touch of glam and comfort.

What makes my brand unique is that it’s built on connection and authenticity. I’ve created a space where clients don’t just come in for a service—they leave feeling transformed, cared for, and seen. Family and community are a big part of my life, and I carry that same energy into my business. Right now, I’m focused on continuing to grow Sinful Beauty, expanding services, and making it a go-to spot for those who want to embrace both their inner and outer beauty

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has shaped how I see myself the most is the one I’ve built with my family. Being a wife, a mom, and now watching my children step into their own lives has shown me strength, patience, and resilience in ways I never expected. My marriage to Brent has taught me about partnership and standing strong through life’s ups and downs, while being a mother to Andrew and Savannah has helped me see myself as both a guide and a student—I’ve learned as much from them as they have from me. These relationships remind me daily of who I am at my core: loving, protective, strong, and deeply rooted in family.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I’ve always had a strong inner fire — creative, bold, deeply intuitive — but I have this instinct to protect it. Somewhere along the way, I was made to feel like I had to tone down my power, ideas, and emotions to make others comfortable. That shaped how I approached certain relationships and opportunities — sometimes holding myself back just enough to stay “safe” from judgment or disappointment.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is very real. I am no different in public than with family or friends, maybe a little more comical but still, it’s me

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
My resilience, my inner strength and the love and loyalty I have for my family and friends. I hope people hear of my passion and desire to be successful, I hope my story inspires and helps others find their way, as I did. That healing is possible. That, even in the darkness, there is always light.
