We’re looking forward to introducing you to Trina Hannah. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Trina, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Growing up I was always a very active kid from playing different sports, but specifically gymnastics. As I got older and went to college I joined the cheer and dance team there, which I loved. However, in the summer I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (basically my joints kept popping out of place) which lead to me tearing my labrum, and I had to quit my sports my senior year. This was really hard for me because I didn’t know who I was if I didn’t have a sport, but over the summer I got a gym membership. That made me absolutely fall in love with the gym and all things working out. I did my own 75 hard challenge and was going everyday. Now, as I am finishing up my senior year I am starting to get interested in competing in CrossFit and HYROX when I graduate. That is something that terrifies me because it is so new to me, but something that I really want to do. So I have been trying to balance school, work, and starting to train for those which is so exciting.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey I’m Trina! I am currently a Senior Design major at Siena Heights University. I have been doing content creating since 2020 and I truly believe that 2026 is going to be my year since things are starting to take off this year. It is hard to balance it with 4 other jobs as well as school but I love what I do. My content focuses on the gym, motivation, fashion, and just filming my life. I have a lot of fun things coming up for when I graduate since I will have time to travel, create more content, and do exciting projects. If you want some motivation, outfit ideas, or like someone with a silly personality then I am the creator for YOU!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I used to believe that I was too much of a “Jack of all trades” to truly succeed in everything in life. Growing up I felt as though I was mediocre at everything I did from art to gymnastics which made me question if I would ever be good at anything. Now, I don’t believe that is true. I am still not particularly great at one thing, however I have been able to use that to my advantage. I have been succeeding in art, content creating, and the gym which keeps life interesting. I would much rather have multiple things that I enjoy doing and am decent at, than one single thing. There is nothing wrong with not excelling in one specific thing, remember that!
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me many things that success never could. That is why I truly believe that everyone goes through periods of suffering in their life so that they can come out stronger on the other side. Something that I was personally taught from a period of suffering that I experienced was that you just got to trust that it’ll be okay. I am a very overly-anxious person which can make me overthink every small thing in my life, which then can lead to me spiraling. So, when I started adapting the mindset that everything is just going to workout for me someway, somehow, it suddenly did. Not always the way I wanted or expected it to of course, but it always does and it gives me that peace of mind. That is something I never could have learned or adapted into my life without experiencing suffering.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
If you know me, you know that I always say that one day I am going to make it out of Michigan. I was born and raised here and have never left. Don’t get me wrong I think it is a cute state, but I think that there is so much of the world that I need to see. And especially with what I do for work, Michigan just isn’t the most ideal place for creative minds. With that being said, I have no clue where I will end up or if one day I’ll move back to Michigan, but I do know I am going to go explore the world and all it has to offer. I think those experiences you get are things that you can’t get from anything else, that is what I am so committed to doing it. So just wait for the content of me exploring places one day, could even be vlogging in the Netherlands who knows!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I do believe I could give everything my best even if I never got praised for it. Growing up, my parents always told us to try our best at everything we do. Whether it was painting a picture or a job interview, and that is something that has always stuck inside my mind. I think about it everyday in every thing that I do. It is never about who sees you doing what, or what awards you get, it is simply about knowing that YOU gave it your all. Because at the end of the day, you should be the only person that you care about satisfying.
