Hi Anthony, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with my 4 kids. My daughter Bria is 27(she’s a great singer), my son Cam is 24(In his last year of Law School), my son Chance is 15(Has an amazing memory), and my son Maverick is 7(Loves animals and drawing them). Seeing them happy gives me immense joy!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Coach Anthony Mercer and I own Next Level Sports. I have written a book titled ‘Sports Heaven: Why Sports is a haven for the Fatherless/Motherless Child’. I have plans to produce a Sports Documentary titled ‘Sports Heaven’ that will highlight how some athletes have used sports like therapy to deal with the lost of loved one. I also have movie script ideas for a movie with same title ‘Sports Heaven’.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my grandmother Beulah White(my dad’s mom) is the relationship that most shaped how I see myself. She was the person who made me realize that I could become a better person EACH day and to rely on my faith to guide me through EVERYTHING.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If there was one kind thing I could say to my younger self it would be “Everything you are going through now is preparing you to be the best version of your future self”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends and everyone who knows me would say my kids are what really matters to me

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I am gone from this earth I hope people say “He was a great man with amazing integrity who did his best to be the man God intended him to be and gave hope to millions of kids/adults who needed it.
