Ashley Corral of Hondo, Tx on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ashley Corral. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Ashley, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
My resilience. Built through the ups and downs of life and business ownership. Unshakable — and I’m so proud of the woman I’ve become.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Ashley A. Corral, a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of Elite Massage Therapy in Hondo, Texas.
I’ve been in this field for over four years, and my passion lies in helping people heal — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally, too. At Elite Massage Therapy, we focus on creating a space where clients can truly relax, recover, and reconnect with themselves.
What makes my work special is the personal touch and care I bring to every session. I’ve built my practice around compassion, education, and the belief that wellness is for everyone. From therapeutic and deep tissue massages to sauna therapy and self-care education, everything we do is centered around whole-body healing.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding community awareness about the benefits of massage therapy, breaking the stigma that still exists in some communities, and helping people see massage as an essential part of their wellness journey — not just a luxury.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I thought I was dumb. But I’ve learned that intelligence isn’t about grades or fitting into a box — it’s about resilience, creativity, and heart. I see now that I’ve always been capable; I just needed to believe it.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life have been my son’s health challenges at birth and losing loved ones far too soon. Those experiences broke me open in ways I didn’t expect — they taught me about fear, grief, and the fragility of life.
I’ve found healing through helping others. In my work, I hold space for people’s pain, stress, and emotions — because I understand what it feels like to carry invisible weight. Through massage therapy and human connection, I’ve learned that healing is not just physical; it’s emotional and spiritual too. Helping others find peace has helped me find my own.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. The public version of me is the real me.
I try to be as authentic as possible in everything I do. Living in a small town, people know you — not just your business, but your heart. It’s important to me that who I am in person is the same as who I am online and in my work. What you see is truly what you get.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember my heart.
I want them to know that I loved deeply, lived fully, and dedicated my life to helping and healing others. More than anything, I hope they smile when they think of me — remembering kindness, compassion, and the small ways I tried to make the world a little better. I want to be remembered as a healer, someone who cared enough to make a difference in the lives of others.
