Ashton Koontz’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Ashton Koontz and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Ashton, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy is everything to me. It’s what fuels my passion, my purpose, and my ability to create. As a creative, energy isn’t just about momentum—it’s about alignment. When my energy is right, I feel grounded, inspired, and fully present in my work. It allows me to tap into my most authentic self, to create from a space that’s honest and intentional. Whether I’m behind the camera, styling a look, or building something new, I lead with energy first. It shapes the environments I walk into, the people I connect with, and the art I bring to life. Protecting and nurturing that energy has become one of the most important parts of my process.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ashton Koontz. I’m a creative at heart—an author, content creator, and stylist who’s always led with intention and energy. Lately, I’ve been leaning deeper into music, exploring new ways to express my truth and connect with people on a soul level. Creativity has always been my language, whether through visuals, fashion, or now sound. I create from a space that’s honest, emotional, and rooted in who I am.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is usually a lack of presence, honesty, and understanding. Sometimes it’s ego, sometimes it’s timing, and often, it’s silence—things left unsaid, or emotions left unexplored. When people stop seeing each other clearly and stop holding space for one another, that’s when distance starts to form.
What restores those bonds is vulnerability and intention. It’s the willingness to listen, to take accountability, and to show up even when it’s uncomfortable. Healing happens when both people are honest about where they are, and open to reconnecting in a new, evolved way. It takes grace, patience, and a shared desire to rebuild something real.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You don’t have to prove your worth to anyone—just being you is already enough.
I’d remind my younger self that softness is strength, that it’s okay to not have it all figured out, and that everything meant for you will align when the time is right. The world will try to shape you, but your energy, your heart, and your creativity are your superpowers. Protect them.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That peace is more important than success.
A lot of people chase the spotlight, the next win, or external validation. But I’ve learned that none of it matters if you’re not at peace with yourself. I’d rather move slower and stay aligned with my spirit than rush into rooms that aren’t meant for me. True success, to me, is waking up with a calm mind, a clear heart, and the freedom to create without compromise.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes, I have. I’ve gotten things I once dreamed about—opportunities, recognition, even certain material things—and still found myself wanting more. Not out of ungratefulness, but because I’m constantly evolving. Every win reveals a new layer of potential in me, a new level to reach. I don’t believe in staying stagnant. I believe in growth, in leveling up—not just in what I achieve, but in who I become through it all.
