Beating Burnout

Often the key to having massive impact is the ability to keep going when others would have burned out. Below, you’ll find some brilliant entrepreneurs and creatives sharing how they’ve overcome or avoided burnout.

Stereo Ontario

For Stereo Ontario, burnout can come in many different ways. One way the band can experience burnout is burning the candle at both ends. We all have lives outside of Stereo Ontario and constantly going can be draining. Its important for the band to take time off from playing shows and come back stronger then it had been before. Because Stereo Ontario involves many different facets, its easy to shift from being burned out on one venture of the group to a totally different one that will ultimately revitalize the first. There is always something to be doing for the group as well so its not as if everything has to stop just because one part of the groups ventures are getting monotonous. Read More>>

As a music artist and content creator, it’s crucial for me to maintain a healthy state of mind and avoid burnout. Here are some strategies I’ve found helpful in overcoming or preventing burnout:

Prioritize self-care: I make sure to carve out time for self-care activities that help me relax and recharge. Whether it’s going for a walk, practicing mindfulness or meditation, or simply spending time with loved ones, nurturing my mental and physical well-being is essential. Sleeping is a wonderful hobby, and I make sure I go to sleep early and sleep at least 8h/night. Read More>>

As a small gym owner, one of the key strategies I’ve employed to overcome or avoid burnout is by building a strong and reliable team of trainers. By doing so, I can distribute the workload, share responsibilities, and create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Read More>>

In the past when I found myself discouraged, I would try to push through because that seemed to be the right thing to do. However, I’ve come to find in recent years that having a burn out is your body and mind trying to tell you something is wrong. I experienced a burn out myself a few years back during my first year of school at Arizona State University. At the time I was pursuing a degree in double bass performance with hopes to one day land a spot in a professional symphony, I had just entered the rock scene in Arizona with my first original rock band, and the pandemic was at it’s peak with a strict lock down and remote learning. I wouldn’t say I’ve necessarily overcome burnout. For me, burnout is a persistent struggle. As an entrepreneur, I co-founded a company that is up against over 100 years of real estate rhetoric and status quo. We’ve overcome a lot of obstacles and skepticism but we’re still swimming against a very strong current. Every day has new challenges that don’t have a clearly defined answer. I’m putting my best foot forward and learning as I go. I celebrate every small win our team earns and take even the tiniest steps forward as moments to add wind to my sails.  Read More>>

After streaming for 1400 + days on a consistent schedule of course with some built in days off, overcoming burnout is a matter of spirit.
Everyday you must have faith in the steps you walk and know you’re going in the right direction based on the knowledge you possess of the process you’re looking to complete.

That and some good food! Diet is very important when it comes to long term effectiveness just like a car and it’s oil. Read More>>

Back in my early years of doing comedy, I faced burn out a lot because I would go really really hard, going to things like open mics and doing shows, and writing every day for a month – trying to also get on stage every day. And after going on that schedule for so long, I’d eventually burn out and have to take a few months break after that, and then any sort of progress I’ve built in that time would go down the drain.
