Bella Amore of Kansas City on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Bella Amore shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Bella, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing legacy — not just success. Everything I do is about building something lasting for my children, my community and the generations coming after me. My relationship with God is at the center of that pursuit. He’s the one who gives me vision, strength, and the courage to keep going when things get tough. If I stopped, it wouldn’t just be me pressing pause — it would mean burying the very gifts God trusted me with. I believe legacy isn’t about what I gain, it’s about what I give and stopping would mean failing to fulfill the purpose He placed over my life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Martikia ‘Bella Amore’ Brown — professional model, actress, realtor, and visionary entrepreneur. I am the founder of Bella Amore®, a brand built on elegance, empowerment, and authenticity. What makes my journey unique is that I didn’t fit the traditional mold — I’m a petite model from Missouri who has booked campaigns with brands like the NFL and Miss Missouri , walked LA Fashion Week, and trained under Emmy-nominated directors. I created my brand to prove that beauty, power, and purpose can coexist no matter your height, your background, or your story.

Beyond the runway and film sets, I’m passionate about using my platform to uplift others. Through Bella Amore, I’m building spaces for women and youth to grow in confidence — including my upcoming ‘Fashion, Heels & Flaws’ women’s empowerment event. It’s more than a brand, it’s a movement: transforming flaws into fuel, faith into action, and dreams into legacy.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks the bonds between people is pride, ego and a lack of communication. When we stop listening and start assuming, relationships weaken. But what restores them is God’s love at the center — forgiveness, grace and humility. When we allow God to soften our hearts, bonds can be restored stronger than before.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self, “You are already enough. God’s hand is on your life, even when you can’t see it yet. Don’t dim your light to make others comfortable — shine boldly because everything you’ve been through will become the fuel for your purpose.”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that beauty and talent only come in one size, one look or one background. For so long, the narrative has been that you have to fit into a box to be successful. The truth is, representation matters — and audiences connect most with authenticity. I’ve learned that the very things the industry tries to count you out for can actually become your advantage.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. My best isn’t about who praises me, it’s about honoring God with the gifts He’s given me. Recognition fades but purpose lasts. As long as I know I gave my all and it glorified Him, that’s enough.
