Brandon Schrichten’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brandon Schrichten. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Brandon, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My day starts with stretching and reading the news while my coffee brews. I then spend about an hour practicing calligraphy—writing alphabets, penning letters to penpals, and transcribing the Bible in reverse from Revelation as both a writing exercise and devotional. After that, I shift into work mode and begin answering emails.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a full-time film editor, sound designer, and colorist based in Texas, where I run my studio, All Things Post Production. I collaborate with brands of all sizes across the U.S. on everything from commercials and music videos to short films and concert visuals. What sets me apart is offering all key post-production services—editing, color, and sound—under one roof. It streamlines the process, ensures creative continuity, and eliminates the need to hire separate specialists.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Going through a divorce was a turning point in how I see myself. It was painful at the time, but it forced me into a ‘sink or swim’ mindset. I had no one else to rely on—just myself and the drive to make my business succeed. That experience pushed me to grow in ways I never expected, and ultimately led me to find my true love, who I’m now married to. Looking back, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’ve never felt like giving up, but there have been moments where I needed to pivot. Being self-employed comes with the constant awareness that everything you’ve built can change in an instant. That keeps me grounded, grateful, and motivated to keep improving. I take nothing for granted and always try to stay humble—especially when success tempts me to forget how fragile it all can be.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would probably say I care a lot about doing things with intention and integrity. Whether it’s my work or how I carry myself, I believe the little things—showing up on time, keeping a clean space, honoring your word—speak volumes. I put my heart into the details, even if no one notices, because to me, how you do anything is how you do everything.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as an honorable man who led by example—someone who stayed true to his values, no matter the noise around him. I’d want them to say, ‘Brandon was a good man—a loving son, a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a steady source of strength when it mattered most
