Brian Harris of Miami, Fl on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Brian Harris and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Brian, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to step boldly into spaces that once made me question if I was ready or qualified. Before, fear of judgment or failure kept me playing small, but now I realize obedience matters more than comfort. I am being stretched to speak more and build in ways that impact others beyond my own circle. It’s less about perfection and more about trusting His timing and power working through me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brian Harris, CEO of Brown King Care, a lifestyle and wellness brand created to help men, especially men of color, reclaim confidence by caring for themselves from the inside out. What makes Brown King Care unique is our focus on treating a man beyond skincare. Our products aren’t just about smelling good, they’re about feeling whole, balanced, and valued. Each product is handcrafted with clean, natural ingredients that respect both the skin and the spirit. My journey started from seeing how often men neglect self-care, and I wanted to change that narrative. Right now, we’re expanding our reach into gyms, spas, and wellness spaces across the South, making it easier for men everywhere to experience what it truly means to look, feel, and live like royalty.

In addition we are working on rolling out a supplement line as well as tattoo creme for after care.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
That person is my wife, Genevieve. She saw the man I was becoming long before I could see it myself. Where I saw limits, she saw potential; where I questioned my calling, she spoke life into it. Her belief in me has been both a mirror and a catalyst—reflecting who I truly am and pushing me to rise into it. Brown King Care and everything I build today stand as a testament to the vision she had for me when I was still learning to see it.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self, “You don’t have to rush becoming the man you’re destined to be just keep showing up.” Every setback is shaping your strength, every delay is building your depth. The vision God gave you isn’t too big; it’s just ahead of its time. Trust the process, stay rooted in purpose (don’t prolong identifying it) , and remember you were chosen long before you ever felt ready.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is healping people, and peace. They know I’m driven by a desire to uplift others whether it’s helping men rediscover their worth through Brown King Care or connecting people who need mentoring to help then as they learn to walk in purpose. They’d tell you I value authenticity and faith over appearances, and that I’m always trying to build something that leaves a lasting impact. At the end of the day, they know I care most about how I make people feel and grow. Being a wealth of resources to my community is imperative.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What light inside you have you been dimming?
The light I’ve been dimming is my full boldness to lead and innovate without apology. For a long time, I kept parts of my vision small afraid it might be “too much” or make others uncomfortable. But deep down, I’ve always had a heart to transform lives, create spaces for men to heal, and build something far bigger than myself through Brown King Care and beyond. That light of impact and authenticity is no longer something I’m hiding; it’s something I’m letting shine fully.
