Bridget James Ling of Costa Rica on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Bridget James Ling and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bridget James, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
The most surprising and powerful thing I’ve learned about the women inside Freedom Queen is that they’re not just looking for business strategies. They’re seeking identity transformation. When women come into my world, they’re high-performers, coaches, CEOs, creatives, but what they crave isn’t just more money.

They want to become the version of themselves who dominates the internet, scales a movement, and is unapologetically seen.

As Bridget James Ling, I built Freedom Queen not just as a business mentorship brand, but as a global identity revolution. And what I’ve discovered is that my clients already have the fire, they just need the mirror. These women aren’t here to play small or follow cookie-cutter tactics. They’re here to move the world.

It constantly surprises me how fast my clients rise once they’re activated. I’ve watched women go from $2K months to $100K+ months, launch sold-out events in Paris, Miami, and New York, get featured in Magazines, and build movements that have people bingeing their content for hours and reading their books. They stop hiding and start leading, and the money follows. That’s the Freedom Queen way.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Bridget James Ling, the founder of Freedom Queen, a global brand, movement, and mentorship company built for women who are here to lead, dominate their industries, and make millions doing work that moves the world.

I started Freedom Queen after quitting my 9 to 5 job in New York City. I was living in a tiny apartment, working a job that drained me, and I knew deep down I was made for more. I didn’t have investors, fancy connections, or a trust fund, I had a laptop, a bold vision, and a relentless desire to be free.

I booked a one-way flight to Costa Rica, started showing up online, and built Freedom Queen from the ground up. What began as a dream turned into a global company mentoring women around the world to scale their movements to $100K+ cash months and multi-million-dollar brands. Today, I run my company from Costa Rica or any other country that we’re traveling to and host luxury retreats and private client intensives while growing Freedom Queen.

Freedom Queen is not just about business strategy, it’s about power, leadership, and identity. We help women stop playing small and become the face of a movement.

Inside the brand, we teach clients how to dominate the internet, craft iconic content, lead like a CEO, and create high-ticket offers that sell daily. Our work blends sales psychology, magnetic positioning, inner work, and movement-based marketing so our clients don’t just grow, they become impossible to ignore.

Our clients have gone from $2K months to $100K months, launched sold-out events in Paris & Mexico, hit million-dollar years, and been launched best selling books—all while building brands that feel deeply aligned and authentic.

One of the most powerful things we do is host Freedom Queen Live, our annual global conference that brings together hundreds of women for fours days of deep identity work, business strategy, and energetic mastery. It’s not your typical business event, it’s a portal. Our speakers are women who’ve built empires, challenged the rules of the industry, and created movements that actually move people.

Whether I’m mentoring someone to their first six figures or guiding a multi-millionaire to her next iconic body of work, everything we do at Freedom Queen is about leading from conviction, selling with power, and building a brand that lasts.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that built everything through force, the version of Bridget James Ling who thought success meant constantly proving, pushing, and performing, has served its purpose.

She was the one who quit her 9-to-5 in New York City with nothing but a laptop and a vision. She built Freedom Queen from the ground up without a roadmap, just bold belief and relentless execution. She sold her first high-ticket coaching programs without a sales page, created content daily, and turned an idea into a global movement.

But that version of me, who thought she had to earn power by doing more, is no longer required.

Today, I coach, build, and lead differently.

Freedom Queen now helps women go from invisible to iconic. Our clients are scaling to $50K, $100K, even $200K+ cash months. They’re writing best-selling books, launching high-end retreats, and building coaching businesses that turn them into household names in their industries. I have no interest in teaching people that they need to

Inside Freedom Queen, we don’t teach strategies to survive. We mentor women to become the strategy. Whether it’s in our daily coaching, our high-level containers, or on stage at Freedom Queen Live, everything we do is about helping women step into the identity of a true movement leader.

And Freedom Queen Live is the clearest embodiment of this shift. Hundreds of women fly in to experience four days of deep energetic mastery, business clarity, and identity transformation. The woman who walks in is not the woman who walks out.

So yes, the version of me who believed hustle was the only way got me here. But she’s no longer in charge. The next era of Bridget James Ling moves from power, presence, and precision. She doesn’t need validation from others, to be liked by the masses. She leads. She decides. And it happens.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to lead myself when no one was watching, and especially when everyone was watching with judgment.

At the beginning of my business, I was wildly delusional, in the best way. I had just quit my 9-to-5 job in New York City, I had no savings plan, no backup option, just a laptop, a dream, and a fire in my chest. I didn’t care what people thought. I was too busy moving. Too busy selling high-ticket coaching. Too busy becoming Bridget James Ling, founder of Freedom Queen, the woman who would go on to help thousands of women build online empires and scale to six-figure months. But as the brand grew, as the movement exploded, and as the results became undeniable, so did the resentment. People had opinions. There were threads, DMs, gossip, copycats, shade. Women projecting their insecurities onto me. At first, it shocked me. Then it moved me. I found myself there. What success never taught me but suffering did was how to love myself in the face of being misunderstood.

It’s easy to love yourself when everyone’s cheering. But when you’re leading a movement online, visibility comes with judgment. And I’ve had to learn how to hold it all. The praise and the projection. The growth and the backlash. The spotlight and the shadow that comes with it.

And instead of letting it break me, it made me obsessed. Obsessed with identity. Obsessed with building movements. Obsessed with helping other women rise into leadership with their full voice, full power, and full truth intact. Every time someone tried to box me in, I got louder. Clearer. More unapologetic. And more committed to building a brand that lasts.

Today, I run Freedom Queen from Costa Rica, coaching some of the most powerful women in the industry, women scaling high-ticket offers, launching best-selling books, hosting luxury retreats, and becoming known for their work. And every year, at Freedom Queen Live, I watch hundreds of women walk in ready to reclaim their identity, grow their businesses, and become impossible to ignore.

The hate didn’t stop me. It refined me. The suffering didn’t break me. It built the version of Bridget James Ling that I needed to become today. Which is why I don’t fear suffering, I always know that when it comes again, that it will be time for a new chapter of wisdom.

I always say that challenges equal wisdom making machines and wisdom equal wealth because ultimately that is what we sell as coaches and mentors. So? If you want more wisdom what do you need to go through? Challenges. The very things that will mold you into who you’re meant to become.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
That the strategy doesn’t matter nearly as much as your identity.

The truth very few people agree with me on is this: You don’t need a perfect funnel, complicated backend systems, or a 12-step content calendar to be wildly successful. What you need is conviction. Power. Embodiment. You need to become the person people want to pay.

Most people think if they just learn the next tactic, the next launch structure, the next DM script, they’ll finally hit the number. But I’ve seen coaches who know everything… and still can’t sell. Why? Because people don’t buy from strategy, they buy from energy. From frequency. From you.

Inside Freedom Queen, we flip the industry on its head. We help women stop obsessing over what to post and start becoming the message. We turn them into leaders people follow without question.

So no, most people won’t agree with me. They’ll keep selling templates and promising “six-figure launch secrets.” But my clients are living proof: when you shift your identity, the money, influence, and movement follow fast.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, my clients wouldn’t just miss the business strategies. They wouldn’t miss the Zoom calls, the offers, or even the income growth. What they’d miss most is the activation. The soul on fire that they feel.

They’d miss what happens when you enter the world of Bridget James Ling, where the energy is electric, the standards are non-negotiable, and your smallness doesn’t survive. Where you don’t just get coaching, you get called up. Into your voice. Into your power. Into the woman who doesn’t just build a brand, but leads a high-end movement that makes her unforgettable.

My clients would miss the way I see them before they fully see themselves. The way I speak things into their lives that haven’t happened yet, and then they do. The way I make selling feel like breathing and leadership feel like destiny.

And of course, they’d miss Freedom Queen Live, the space where movements are born.
