For Brittany Adams, this season of growth has been as affirming as it is demanding. From gaining confidence through runway shows to deepening connection at pop‑ups and stepping into a role that inspires younger generations, she’s learning that progress—built from nothing and fueled by genuine love for her craft—is what keeps her moving forward, even when the work feels uncertain or heavy.
Hi Brittany, thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with our readers. You’ve been building a lot of momentum lately, so let’s jump right in. You’ve been participating in multiple fashion shows, with another one coming up soon — how have these runway experiences shaped your confidence as a designer and helped you grow your brand?
Confidence?! Doing fashion shows has been a major game-changer in my confidence lol.
I used to watch models when I was younger and was amazed because of how tall and radiant they stood. Now, I am the one who not only choose the models but I am also the one who orchestrates or assists with orchestrating a fashion. If that doesn’t make you confident and comfortable with your talents and efforts then I must be crazy.
In addition to fashion shows, you’ve also been doing pop-up shops throughout the winter and summer months. What have those in-person events taught you about connecting with customers and showcasing your handmade work face-to-face?
Everyone has a story
Additionally, there is literally no reason to be mean.
I know it’s a lot easier said than done especially when you are caught in between really rough moments but understanding that a quick positive comment or a simple kind gesture can literally make someone world just a little brighter.
My pop-up shops have seem to been considerably, “delightful” for customers because they appreciate the way my business is operated.
You were recently invited to speak to middle school students for Black History Month, which is such a meaningful opportunity. What does it mean to you to share your story with young people, and what message do you hope they take away from hearing your journey?
In all honesty, I’m a little nervous about speaking to youth. I remember being the student and having “guest speakers lol. I hope I can actually reach at least one student. Thinking about that makes me want to tear because I can finally say I am the one with the capability of motivating the youth.
You mentioned that working with a local vendor and investing in new equipment has helped speed up your production. How has improving your process changed the way you think about scaling your business and preparing for bigger opportunities?
It has helped wonders! My shipment is faster, I’m able to produce more along with better quality and I am able to think on a faster level because I don’t have to worry about the stress of waiting for my products.
You’ve described this season as both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. When you look at the progress you’ve made so far, what keeps you motivated to keep going, even when the next step feels uncertain?
Good question, progress! Seeing the hard work I have put in has been rewarding on its own. I built my business from literally nothing so now that I can see results and the results are extremely positive, I am beyond elated. Why is it nerve wrecking? Because the hard work can be tedious and sometimes you question if it’s worth it or not. I truly love what I do and that alone makes me happy because other people can see that I love what I do.
