catara lane on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with catara lane and have shared our conversation below.

Hi catara, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I’ve really been enjoying scrapbooking and binge-watching my favorite horror TV shows. Having a little more time to myself these days has made it fun to lean into those hobbies and recharge creatively.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Catara Lane, founder of CLXContent. I’m a YouTube strategist and video editor who helps business owners, authors, and nonprofits turn their expertise into high-converting YouTube channels and evergreen content that actually drives sales, book launches, and visibility.

What makes my work unique is that I blend my film school background with a marketing lens—I don’t just edit videos, I build complete systems that make YouTube less overwhelming and more profitable for people who feel stuck. My mission is to show that you don’t need a huge audience to get real results; in fact, I’ve helped clients land speaking gigs, sell books, and attract high-ticket leads with audiences under 2,000 subscribers.

Right now I’m especially excited about working with authors and nonprofits, helping them use YouTube as a platform to amplify their voices, share their stories, and build movements. I know how isolating it can feel to put your message out into the world, so I focus on strategy and support that helps my clients feel clear, confident, and seen.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My friends. They’ve always seen my potential and reminded me of what I’m capable of—even in moments when I couldn’t see it for myself.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Honestly, I have those moments at least twice a year. There are times when things feel overwhelming and I question if I should keep going. But the truth is, I never give in to those thoughts—I let myself feel them, then I refocus and push forward. Every time I come out stronger, more creative, and more committed to why I started in the first place.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Perfectionism and the need to be “ready.” So many smart, talented people hold themselves back because they think everything has to be perfect before they start. The truth is, you’ll never feel 100% ready—and waiting for that moment often means missing out on opportunities. Progress comes from starting messy, learning as you go, and refining along the way.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
They’d miss my warmth and friendship. I treat every client the same—whether they’re just starting out or running a multi-figure business. People don’t just come to me for strategy; they know I genuinely care about their success and create a space where they feel supported, not judged.
