Christopher Carzoli of El Paso, Tx on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Christopher Carzoli. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Christopher , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Reading. I made it a goal for my self to start reading physical books more. So now my everyday carry includes a book in my pack. Right now I’m reading Jeremy Renners book, I just started it so I can’t give you my opinion just yet but I think everyone should do this. Just read more. Get away from screens for 20 minutes a day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Chris, a photographer, videographer, and storyteller based in the Southwest. After years of event photography, I’ve shifted into content creation and brand storytelling, helping small businesses and creatives bring their ideas to life through photo, video, and social media. I founded Mad Octopus Media as a way to blend creativity with strategy, capturing not just images, but the energy and story behind them. Whether it’s street photography, podcasting, or working with brands I believe in, my focus is always on authentic connections and visuals that leave an impact. My style is documentary based. I really enjoy capturing genuine emotions. It lets you see more of a person that way.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a kid. I was immature and made bad decisions and left it that way. I didn’t care who was on the receiving end.

It’s interesting how a major life choice can have a lasting impact and have you think about that decision almost daily. Don’t do anything without truly thinking of the consequences of action. Consequences can be both positive and negative depending on the outcome. But you need to do what is best for you.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
It’s not worth it. Go home and work on yourself. Because a better you will lead to a happier and healthier future together.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The wellbeing of my friends and family. Are they ok or do they need something. How can I help.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop not traveling and just go. See the entire world and soak it up and take pictures of it all.
