Christopher “Warlok” Stephens of Northwest on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Christopher “Warlok” Stephens. Check out our conversation below.

Christopher “Warlok”, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of building a personal code of ethics based on selflessness and “oneness”, which allows me to become a driving force in the further “forward and upward” progression of those around me and who interact with me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Christopher Stephens, although I’m simply known as “Warlok” by all who know me. I am a fearless visionary and visual artist. Im a small business owner of a small local art business in Austin, Texas. Branded by the name Mephisto Visual Creations©, or simply “Mephisto”, our business motto is “Unusually Unique” and it is my intention and goal to make every piece of artwork I produce to be truly and unusually unique! The subject matter is mostly comprised of darker and bizarre visions, as well as ordinary concepts presented in a very dynamic and thought provoking manner.
I am presently working on illustrating an adult comedy book based on growing up in our family and conceptualized and written by my brother.
I am also designing a full line of merch based on the art of Mephisto and branded by the name Diabolikal Arts©, offering tshirts, hoodies, hats, patches, bags, stickers, skateboard decks, Hi Resolution art prints and many more items, and last but not least I am also collaborating with my Son, who is a firefighter and aspiring artist. We are creating sticker and merch designs for another subsidiary of Mephisto and his own brand called “BackStep Art Co.” which is all designed exclusively for Firefighters and first responders. Be sure to look for these releases coming in Spring 2026!!

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My Grannie (fathers mother). She was also the only other artist in our family and my earliest source of encouragement and inspiration. She told my parents I was a natural born artist and I would need all the instruction and guidance I could get so it was imparative that they be mindful of this and enroll me in art classes immediately. I’ve been an artist since I was 5 yrs old and I’ve never known anything other than being an artist. It’s all I’ve ever truly “wanted” to do, it’s never left me, failed me or faded from my mind or consciousness.it is my identity, my dream realized, I AM Art manifested into a Life.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me that what others think of me or my contributions to this life actually matter alot less than what “I” think about it. In a “business” perception quite the opposite is often believed , but I still believe that a solid, genuine and sincere “vision” WILL in fact find and attract its own following and supportive audience and fan base no matter how small or exclusive that may be. Never become distracted or discouraged by delusions of grandeur or expectations!..

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire my Son most for his character and not his power. I often see the greatest parts of myself and human kind as a whole in my Son. These are qualities that are often taken for granted as well as compromised often more than not. I see my Son stand firm and unmoveable on these precepts though and I know that this is evidence of “true greatness” of which is becoming more and more “rare” nowadays. I see the true greatness and transcendent values in my Sons perception and in how he directly applies them in his life and aspirations. He WILL go far, and nothing will stand in the way.. because TRUTH lights his path and burns brighter than ALL the stars!..

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am creating artwork, it IS my true “Zen”. I’ve had some people tell me throughout my life that my art keeps me “sane”, and I believe that with all of my being. My creative process allows me to escape the boundaries and entrapments of this life and even this reality in whole, I consider myself a truly interdimensional traveler based on this premise.
