Courtney Finley of Hillsboro on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Courtney Finley. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I just started doing some volunteer work a little over a month ago at a local non-profit consignment shop here in Oregon, all of the money from the sale of the clothes and accessories goes to help the veterans in the area. I really enjoy it, it’s something that I haven’t done in a long time and at the same time I get to network for my business!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Courtney Finley and I’m a Professional Organizer, my business is Organized Designs. I have a BFA in Interior Design, I’ve always had a passion for art and design, I’ve always been an organized person and have my own business helping clients, working professionals helping them get and stay organized! I create organizational systems that work for my clients, so they keep up with staying organized.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom for sure! She started her Interior Design Business while working retail and raising 3 kids! I’ve always wanted to have my own business and work for myself and I’ve really been driven and motivated by her my own motivation to have a my business and keep at it!

When did you last change your mind about something important?
I recently hired someone to re-do my website, which was long over due! I didn’t do it while we were living in San Diego because we were renting and didn’t own a house, but now that we have since moved to Oregon and bought a house I’ve really been establishing myself and it was time to re-do my website.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
No matter how big or small the project is, I always hone in on my clients Decluttering before actually starting to get organized, it’s a really important step, something I tell clients all the time!!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
Absolutely Nothing!!!
