We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dakota Baldwin. Check out our conversation below.
Dakota, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I’ve recently had beautiful baby girl, Just a month way from being a year I’ve become a better person and an even better dad, Norie is so loving and brings so much laughter and joy in my life watching her grow and learn so fast every moment is a learning experience for myself, I love trying new foods with her as well as watching all her shows i wouldn’t change it for the world. Being around Norie makes it hard to find a time to be upset, with her bright smile and awesome laugh i couldn’t change it for the world.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey there Canvas Rebel readers for those who don’t know me, and for those who are just starting to read My name is Dakota Baldwin and I’m an aspiring photographer, Come with me as I share my journey with you all.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful, i would say comes from taking care of my younger sibling, with mom at work and my oldest siblings finding themselves in the world and creating families of their own, being a sitter for my younger sister taught me much responsibility and patience, at a very young age.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Starting my photography page/ business was a rocky start i felt deeply in my heart that my very first photo posted would bring a lot of attention to my page and when it didn’t I was almost discourage but I never stopped looking for opportunity to do better, connecting with multiple people and always looking for that one photo to fire start recognization.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
A strong belief I had was that I wouldn’t be noticed at all, there are a lot of great photographers all around the world so having this opportunity to be published in Canvas Rebel showed me not to doubt myself as an artist as well
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I feel that you should do what you love regardless of what people are going to think or feel about you, of course being praised feels great but you should live this life for you ,Acceptance starts within yourself
