The main focus for our business is to educate and inform the community on the importance of quality food choices. Having access to local foods and fostering growing relationships with the farmers, allows us to eat better. The self-discipline is a byproduct of making quality choices to gain positive results for ourselves first and then our supporters. Read More>>

My self-discipline developed from a few different activities and interests that I participated in when I was in school. However, cheerleading is the one activity that stands out; I feel it has attributed the most to my development of self-discipline. In high school, I was involved in cheerleading but did not engage in any of the competitive moves, such as tumbling and stunting.

When it was time to attend college, I wanted to join the cheerleading squad. I went to the tryout, and let’s say, I totally bombed it. The other girls were able to do back flips and backhand springs, while I ended up face down on the ground when attempting a simple cartwheel. Read More>>

Self-discipline is important for writing and painting. A lot of my work habits and ethics are self-taught and took years of practice and experimentation — especially with creativity — to achieve expertise. Persistence and patience are essential skills/attributes for success.

For example — I taught myself how to consolidate and promote my works of art, and also how to publish my books and how to create and run my own website. I largely taught myself because I knew no one who was able to help me do the things I specifically needed to reach my goals. Read More>>

I feel like if you would have asked me this a year ago, I would have had no idea what to say. And that’s because I didn’t feel very disciplined until I started having a routine. Now before I jump into this, I don’t mean some super strict military style schedule. I basically just do certain things during certain times of the day, if that makes sense. For example, I always workout first thing in the morning then I run errands, eat, and then paint. Read More>>

My self-discipline can be attributed to High School athletics. A significant turning point was when I joined my high school wrestling team in the 10th grade. I was 14 years old having skipped the 3rd grade, but to that stage of my life, I hadn’t entered scholastic sports. Before joining the wrestling team, I took Kung Fu, an introduction to learning self-discipline and holding to the term, “indomitable spirit”. I carried that with me into athletics and went from being the slowest runner who couldn’t enter a meet, to becoming team captain with a solid record by senior year. From there, real life began and I have carried the lessons with me through it all leading up to this very day. Read More>>

I learned to be self disciplined when I was very young. My grandmother taught me to do what Ed to do. She always said YES to me. After observing some abuse in my next family when I was only seven years old and I decided that is not going to be my life. I have always done what I wanna do. If someone tried to attack me or control me, I just walked away. I learned from being a Girl Scout and earning badges that making a list and completing the list and earning a badge taught me to do this to accomplish my goals. I have always made a list of things I need to do. check them off and get things done that I want to do. If they’re not completed, I add it to the next list. I learned as a middle school and high school girl to help others I was in the Methodist Church and it was so fun to be a part of the choir and also to help others. When I went to church camp in Colorado, I was up on the mountain, reading a scripture by myself, and I realized the Holy Spirit was right there with me. I have also inspired other people by just listening and on occasion, putting out an idea that might help them move forward let go of what they feel insecure about. Being an artist and an art educator and an art business owner through my life has taught me to teach others to have self discipline. I like to help others do things the way they should to complete what they want to do I’ve expressed myself through many different media’s and series. Now that I’m painting a series about life in an abstract Expressionism way I enjoy when others see what they see and they tell me what they see. It makes me feel good if you’re having a problem with self-discipline just make your list complete what you think you should do , and you’ll be in a better place. Read More>>
