Dr Jennifer Freedx of Montecito on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr Jennifer Freedx. Check out our conversation below.

Dr Jennifer , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I spend the first 90 minutes of my day in spiritual practice, which includes meditating, qi gong, aura clearing, writing spiritual guides, and focusing on daily intentions.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Dr. Jennifer Freed, a psychological astrologer, bestselling author, and thought leader dedicated to helping people live fully expressed and deeply connected lives. Over four decades, I’ve guided thousands through the integration of psychology, astrology, and soul work, offering tools that illuminate personal growth and collective healing. My books—including Use Your Planets Wisely and A Map to Your Soul—invite readers to discover pathways of meaning, resilience, and joy.

Beyond my writing, I am the co-founder of ahasb.org
, a nonprofit that has served more than 100,000 teens, families, and educators with life-changing programs in social and emotional development. AHA! is rooted in the belief that young people deserve spaces where empathy, creativity, and kindness flourish. Our work has become a national model for empowering youth to feel seen, heard, and capable of making a difference in the world.

Whether I am leading retreats, contributing to major media, or collaborating on creative projects, my mission remains constant: to foster greater compassion, authenticity, and connection in a world that urgently needs them. I see myself as both a guide and a student—sharing what I’ve learned while continuing to be inspired by the courage and imagination of others.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was a child, I saw the in-between worlds. I had experiences of profound mystery and magic that connected me to my magical self and intuition. These experiences of being on a spiritual journey are my true power.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Life is full of suffering and disappointment, which is how we truly know joy. All life is a series of contrasts and to savor the joy and fully release the suffering is an art. I am still learning that.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They know that they matter to me. Love and generosity are my social strengths. My sacred crew is everything to me.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
I think the only worth building is enlightenment. The only goal worth striving for is for humanity to awaken and to bring heaven to earth. The acquisitive ego has all but destroyed our planet and murdered innocent people. Enough of this building on the outside. I want to build a portal to divine compassion.
