Eric, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity—without question. In private investigation, especially here in Florida, where the laws are strict and the stakes are often high, integrity isn’t just important—it’s essential. We’re dealing with sensitive situations that can deeply impact people’s lives, whether it’s a child custody case, a legal dispute, or a matter of personal safety. If we’re not operating with honesty, discretion, and full legal compliance, we’re not only putting our clients at risk—we’re also jeopardizing the trust our agency is built on.

Intelligence and energy are definitely key, and they help us think critically, act efficiently, and adapt in the field. But without integrity guiding those traits, they lose their value. At Nathans Investigations, we believe doing the right thing—even when no one is watching—is what defines a truly professional private investigator.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Eric Nathan, and I’m the founder and president of Nathans Investigations, a licensed private investigation agency based in Florida. As a U.S. Army Veteran, I’ve spent my career working to bring truth, clarity, and ethical investigative services to individuals, law firms, and businesses across the state.

What sets Nathans Investigations apart is our dedication to integrity, legal compliance, and client trust. We don’t cut corners, and we’re proud to be known as one of the most ethical and results-driven PI agencies in Florida. We offer services ranging from child custody and infidelity investigations to background checks, surveillance, asset location, and OSINT-based online investigations.

We’re fortunate to have received multiple awards and recognition for our work, but what truly drives us is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—whether it’s reuniting a family, uncovering the truth, or helping someone feel safer in their personal or professional life.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My father. He was the one who truly instilled in me the values that guide how I approach work every single day—integrity, discipline, and accountability. Watching him show up consistently, no matter the circumstances, taught me that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about character. He led by example, showing me that doing the right thing, even when no one’s watching, is what defines a person. His work ethic and commitment to our family shaped how I lead my business and serve my clients today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely, there have been challenging moments where I felt like giving up. Building a private investigation agency in a competitive and highly regulated field like Florida’s is no easy feat. There were times when cases were tough, resources were stretched thin, or progress seemed slow. But what kept me going was the belief in the importance of the work we do — helping people find truth, achieve justice, and gain peace of mind. Those moments reminded me why I started this journey in the first place, and they fueled my determination to keep pushing forward. Every challenge became an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, I believe the public version of me reflects the core values and professionalism I hold, but like anyone, there’s more beneath the surface. The public side shows my dedication to integrity, hard work, and helping others through private investigations. Behind the scenes, I’m also constantly learning, adapting, and balancing the challenges that come with running a business and serving clients. Outside of work, I focus on my family, personal growth, and the everyday moments that keep me grounded and motivated. So, while the public version is genuine and authentic, it’s just one part of the full story. The real me includes both the professional commitment people see and the personal life and experiences that shape who I am every day.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. Giving my best isn’t about recognition or praise—it’s about personal integrity and pride in the work I do. Whether anyone notices or not, I believe in holding myself to the highest standards because it reflects who I am and the values I stand for. In private investigation, every detail matters, and doing the job right can make all the difference for my clients, regardless of external validation. So yes, I’m committed to giving 100% every time, even when no one’s watching.
