Good morning Esperanza, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I would say I’m always wandering—but in the best possible way. I’ve learned that every detour, surprise, or opportunity that crosses my path tends to guide me exactly where I’m meant to be. I follow what feels right in the moment, stay open to new possibilities, and trust that each step—planned or not—leads me closer to the path that aligns with who I am and who I’m becoming.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Esperanza Creese, a Realtor in Oregon who helps people find homes that truly fit their lives. I bring creativity, resilience, and a fresh perspective to real estate, using unique marketing strategies and personalized service to make the process smooth and meaningful. My goal is to empower clients while building a brand that reflects openness, possibility, and connection.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself was with my Aunt Malinda. She was my role model—from her selflessness to her deep love as an aunt. Her early passing left a piece of me behind, but it also opened my eyes to the world and showed me who I needed to be. Her love and example continue to guide me, inspiring me to live fully, give generously, and embrace the path ahead with courage and purpose.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were moments when I almost gave up. Life has thrown challenges my way—personally, professionally, and even within my journey of navigating the world with a visual impairment. There were times I felt overwhelmed, uncertain, and tempted to step back. But every time I reached that point, something in me refused to quit. I reminded myself of the people who believe in me, the dreams I’m working toward, and the version of myself I’m becoming. Those near‑breaking moments became turning points that pushed me to grow stronger, stay focused, and keep moving forward.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes—what you see is what you get. The public version of me is absolutely the real me. My awkwardness is 100 percent authentic, and I definitely have a sarcastic streak with a bit of dark humor at times. But that’s exactly what I love about myself. I show up as who I am, unapologetically, and I think people connect with that honesty

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people will most misunderstand my determination and perseverance. I hope people will see that my legacy is about determination and showing what’s possible. Being visually impaired means I have to work harder in many ways, but I embrace that challenge. I want to prove to myself, to the world, and to others with disabilities that limitations don’t define us—the sky truly is the limit. If I can push boundaries, pursue my dreams, and inspire others along the way, that’s the legacy I hope to leave behind.
