We recently had the chance to connect with Fauzan Jam’an and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Fauzan, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me starts with waking up in the morning, taking my daughters to school, going for a 15-minute jog, and then starting work — of course, from home.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, my name is Fauzan Jam’an. I am a professional logo designer with more than five years of experience. I am married and have two wonderful and kind daughters. Working as a freelance logo designer is an exciting job because every time I create a logo, I feel like I’m making something new, each business has its own unique identity reflected in its logo, which becomes the face of the brand. And i feel proud for being the part of it journey.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
No one taught me to become a logo designer. I am self-taught, as I have loved drawing since my teenage years. I learned logo design from YouTube videos and various articles that discuss logo design.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Of course, I’ve experienced that phase. There was a time when I didn’t get any clients for three months.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
First and foremost, the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), as well as the opinions of my wife and family.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, absolutely. As a logo designer, I’ve learned that not every great design receives praise or recognition, but that’s not why I create. I give my best because every logo I design represents someone’s dream, someone’s story. Even if no one notices, I know that I’ve helped bring an identity to life, and that feeling is more valuable than any praise.
