We’re looking forward to introducing you to Felicia Jackson. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Felicia, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
For me, mornings set the tone for everything — my energy, my focus, my mood. I teach this inside my Rise + Reset program, but it’s something I live every day myself.
I usually start my morning with a shower and skincare. I use a gua sha for lymphatic drainage and de-puffing, and honestly, it’s become a non-negotiable. It wakes up my face, boosts circulation, and just makes me feel more like myself before I step into the day.
Once I’m dressed, I head straight to the kitchen to feed my dog, Rocco. While he’s eating, I always empty the dishwasher. It sounds mundane, but that tiny sense of accomplishment gives you an early-morning dopamine boost — it’s one of those small habits that makes a big difference in how motivated and clear-headed you feel.
Then Rocco and I head out for our 20-minute morning walk. Early sunlight is magic for regulating cortisol, supporting circadian rhythm, and signaling to your body that it’s time to fully wake up. Even on cold days, it’s one of my favorite parts of the morning.
When we get home, I make lunch for my son to take to school, and then I shift into my own wellness routine. I start with a 2-oz lemon and ginger shot — I prep a batch for the week and keep it in the fridge. It’s amazing for immunity, digestion, and honestly just feels like a reset button.
After that, I take my morning supplements with a big glass of water. My staples are Maca, Omega-3s, and a daily multivitamin. Maca and Omegas are especially supportive for women in midlife — they help with energy, mood regulation, hot flashes, and brain health.
Then it’s time for my latte and breakfast. I add collagen to my latte, and breakfast is often peanut butter–banana toast with cinnamon. Rocco has strong opinions about breakfast and expects his banana slices, so at this point I rarely eat anything else or he’s extremely disappointed!
When I finally sit down with breakfast, that’s the first moment I look at my phone. Moving through my morning without screens is grounding for me. It keeps my mind clear and helps me step into the day with intention instead of reactivity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Felicia Jackson, a perimenopause health coach and the founder of Rise + Reset — a wellness brand that helps women 40+ reclaim their energy, confidence, and clarity through simple, sustainable, hormone-supportive habits.
After a long career as a creative director in the fashion industry, I went through my own rocky perimenopause transition and realized how little support women get during this phase of life. That experience led me to create Rise + Reset: an approachable, science-backed roadmap for navigating midlife without overwhelm.
My programs focus on micro-habits that make a big impact — better energy, steadier mood, improved sleep, fewer cravings, and a metabolism that finally feels like it’s working with you again. I blend education with practical daily routines so women understand what’s happening in their bodies and feel empowered to make changes that stick.
Today, I’m focused on expanding the Rise + Reset app and creating resources that make hormone health accessible for every woman, no matter how busy she is.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One of the most defining moments in my life was realizing I had aged out of the fashion industry. I had spent more than two decades building a career I loved, and after taking a break to raise my kids, I assumed I would step right back into it. But that’s not what happened. Suddenly the doors that once opened easily were no longer opening at all.
It forced me to confront something I hadn’t prepared for: I was in midlife, but still seeing myself as the younger version of who I used to be. Accepting that disconnect was painful. There was disappointment, and honestly, a lot of shame. I never imagined it would happen to me — it was something I thought only happened to other people.
But working through that forced me to rebuild my identity on my own terms. It made me stronger, more grounded, and more confident in who I am now — not who I used to be. It was the catalyst for everything I’m doing today, and it gave me a deep empathy for women navigating big transitions. It didn’t happen overnight, but it changed the entire trajectory of my life.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that life is a series of transitions — and that each one will shape you in ways you can’t yet imagine. You won’t stay the same person forever, and that’s a good thing. The experiences that feel unexpected or uncomfortable are often the ones that lead you to your next chapter.
Keep an open mind. Let yourself evolve. Don’t hold so tightly to who you think you’re supposed to be that you miss who you’re becoming. Every twist, detour, setback, and surprise will give you insight that becomes part of your strength. Welcome it.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie in the wellness industry is that women should strive for a lifestyle that isn’t actually realistic for most real women. There’s this image of the “perfect” health coach or wellness influencer — washboard abs, three meticulously balanced high-protein meals a day, seven different vegetables before lunchtime, a two-hour morning routine. It’s aspirational, but it’s not real life.
Somewhere along the way, parts of the industry forgot that women in midlife are juggling families, careers, aging parents, stress, and full schedules. They don’t need another impossible standard to measure themselves against. And yet they’re often made to feel guilt or shame when they can’t achieve a version of perfection that was never designed for them in the first place.
Another lie? That midlife women can lose weight or “feel amazing” if they just follow one specific plan perfectly. That’s not how perimenopause works — and it sets women up for frustration and self-blame.
Perfection isn’t the goal. It’s not even possible. What is possible — and what I focus on — is sustainable progress that fits the real woman’s life. Small, doable habits that support hormones, energy, and confidence without requiring someone to become a full-time wellness influencer just to feel better.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Honestly, those days are happening right now. I’ve only been coaching for a few years, but I’ve never felt more aligned or energized by the work I’m doing. Creating programs for midlife women, developing content that actually helps them feel better, and seeing the shifts they make — it lights me up in a way my past career never did.
Every time a woman sends me a DM saying she finally slept through the night, or that her anxiety is easing, or that she finally understands what’s happening in her body… it feels magical. I never expected to be in a position where I could make this kind of impact, and it still amazes me that I get to do this work.
This chapter of my career feels like the exact place I’m meant to be — and yes, it absolutely makes me want to tap-dance into my office every morning.
