9LIVES Apparel

Our purpose as Designers, Creative Directors, and Co-Owners of 9LIVES Apparel honestly found us. The song was titled “Million Dollar Dreams” where I highlighted my struggles as an independent artist, but expressed how if I never made a cent I’d still do it for the love of it. Read More>>

Initially, I allowed myself the freedom to experiment extensively across a broad spectrum of mediums: from sculpture and prints to the more contemporary realms of 3D animation, digital procedural plugins, and web development. Every brushstroke, every pixel, every sculpted form, was a step closer to finding my unique voice. Read More>>

Finding my purpose came through the pain and obstacles that I’ve faced or experienced in my life. Once I allowed myself to feel and embrace my emotions I was able to process them. Well, to paraphrase a classic, “For as long back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster”… erm, comedian. Cue Tony Bennett. As a child, I would watch SNL and Chris Rock specials with my dad. I was definitely too young for a lot of it, but it made a huge impact. The way they made people laugh, communication through humour, that really spoke to me. For a while, I wasn’t sure about my purpose. I thought that it meant that I had to pick a common career and flourish at that. Growing up I hated math, history bored me, science didn’t interest me, and I’m not very athletic. Cheerleading was the closest that I’ve ever gotten to any type of sports. The one thing that I’ve always loved, was the ability to entertain and storytelling. Read More>>

In life many moments happen that cause us to travel down a new road. I’ve been a filmmaker for the past seventeen years. Mainly heading towards narrative cinema. Having created three features and thirty-eight shorts, I’ve dissected an endless amount of career tracks. Living in a bubble of make-believe causes one to become numb to the many struggles outside of that bubble.

I love this question, I think there is one simple answer & for me it is my identity in Christ. Growing up I was an athlete and my whole world was focused on competing. From a very young age, I realized my love for the arts. I enjoyed writing plays and producing theatrical productions for my friends, family, and neighbors. When I was six years old, I co-wrote a play with my neighbor, and we invited our neighbors to watch our production. During the holiday season, I served as the director and producer for our Christmas production for my family. It was then that I realized that writing, directing, and producing were things I enjoyed and could see myself doing in the long run. As a teenager, I began to enjoy watching the news and always aspired to become a television news anchor. In undergrad, initially I pursued a degree in theater, until I realized how time-consuming it would be. So, I began pursuing a degree in communication, which allowed me to continue writing, directing, and producing. Read More>>
