Burning out is one of the primary risks you face as you work towards your goals and so focusing on self-care as a way to minimize the impact of burnout is one of the best investments you can make.

Self-care is really a new concept for me that I never practiced until recently. For most of my life it has been extremely difficult for me to find balance. I tended to obsess over things to my detriment with everything going on in my personal life, my responsibilities as a father, husband, friend, and also my responsibilities as a business owner. I often found myself sitting alone at the end of the day frustrated with my inability to control the various situations that occurred throughout the day.  Read More>>

Self-care is one of the biggest and most essential pieces of my life. I’ve built such a beautiful and transformative practice, but it was definitely not easy getting to this point. It sounds silly, and like things should be the opposite, but it took me a long time to determine what self-care meant to me and to learn how to build time for it in my daily routine. What self-care is to me, may not be what self-care is to you, and that’s okay. For me, self-care is my spiritual practice, and each piece of my practice has had a positive impact on me personally and professionally. Read More>>

Self-care is essential to me. For self-care, I have a little routine that includes yoga, walking, reading, and sometimes rest.

I learned over time that self-care evolves and becomes whatever we make it. For me, it has to be around movement and rest. When I take my self-care seriously, I move, such as doing yoga, walking, or even going to the gym at least five days a week. Read More>>

Self-care is very important to me. Therapy would have to be number one on my self-care priority list. I’ve been going for years. Self-care is an ever-changing thing that artists especially are notoriously bad at doing. Self-care to me is usually not the Instagram-worthy face masks, cup of tea kind of thing (but I do treat myself to a little matcha latte every so often). With a yet un-diagnosed chronic health condition, my self-care has become forgiving myself. I am allowed to go to work and still be tired, I can sit out of petite allegro in ballet class, and I can do so without being mad at myself. Thinking back at my time as a dance major in college, there would always be a new reason to nit-pick at myself. Read More>>

Self Care is such a taboo word that I think to truly understand the implications it has on our overall well being takes small decisions over time applying what is needed to enure balance, purposefulness and effectiveness. There are many forms of self care and each option has individual relevance. A evening self care plan for me includes foam rolling, foot stretches, massage gun, and a bed care routine with tea, stillness. meditation and adequate sleep 7-8 hrs.
Mornings are bright and early to allow for tea time, dog walks, rolling feet out on sensory ball and making it to teach class on time. Read More>>

Self care is huge for me! People may think that you need to book a luxurious spa day or take a week off and travel to some far out island, but you don’t. Although I’m sure we’d all love to pack our bags and head out every time we needed a little self care, we have to understand that even the smallest things can make us feel just as fulfilled. For me, self care can be a quick jam session in the car before clocking in to work or treating myself to my favorite comfort foods after a long day.  Read More>>

Self care has been a game changer for me. To be honest, it was very challenging for me to get into the groove of prioritizing time for myself and it does take a lot of discipline. Self-care is an act of self-love, and I’m thankful to be at a time in my life where I’m making it a priority. As a child I wasn’t very good at prioritizing my own needs. I grew up in an environment where a lot was expected of me at a young age. I believe our childhood is instrumental in developing how we approach problem solving, stress and many of our relationship dynamics.  Read More>>

I typically take Sundays and Mondays as my self-care days. I try not to commit to many appointments or obligations and try to live in a state of flow those days. This typically looks like starting my day with yoga, stretching, and a fitness activity. To follow, I make a nutrient-dense meal and a glass of iced mushroom matcha latte. I also use these days to get a massage, do a complete skincare routine, and/or go for a hike or walk. Getting out in nature helps to clear my head space, engulf in the present moment, and ground myself. I find taking at least one or two days for myself to tune into my body and needs creates a reset to start the week. I also believe self-care to be effective because the more love and energy you pour into yourself, the more you can pour into other people. Read More>>

My self care routine is very specific and tailored to me and my schedule. When I first became an entrepreneur, the hardest part for me, was learning to prioritize self care. As a child I was raised with a very strict routine that did not highlight anything to do with self care. In fact self care was labeled as selfish and you were meant to put yourself last. With others before yourself and Jesus before that, at the top. I had long felt that there was something unjust in this, even as a child. I mean how could you adequately care for others and provide any manor of fortitude in life if you never “filled your own cup”. I mean after all, whats left if you’re always last? Read More>>

As a licensed therapist and often discuss the importance of self-care. To me self-care is taking time to refuel and rejuvenate. This time is just as important as the work that we do. Self-care is necessary to allow for the opportunity to reflect and plan. Without the intentional moments to check-in with ourselves, it is easy to spiral down or up a path that may not be a good fit. For self-care, I like to travel when I can. I recharge near water so I go to the beach often. Traveling is my most favorite activity in the world. Going to new places allows me the opportunity to explore other cultures and experience new things.  Read More>>
