From Exhausted to Energized: Overcoming and Avoiding Burnout

Between Hustle Culture, Work-From-Home, and other trends and changes in the work and business culture, we’ve seen a large rise in burnout within the community and so we’ve become very interested in hosting conversations around how folks can avoid or overcome burnout.

This is hard as an artist! The freelance life definitely lends itself to a lot of burnout. I’d say to remember that while your art is something you love, it’s not the only thing that makes you special. You are sooooo much more than your work. When we align our personal happiness and self esteem with our work, it’s a slippery slope to feeling dejected and burnt out quick. Find some other things you love to do and do those too! As a cosplayer, there’s so much stuff to do to get a cosplay to come together whether it’s sewing, wig styling, 3D printing, or even figuring out a plan and where to start so burnout happens often.
