Giovanni P. shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Giovanni, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m chasing my passion of being a music artist. It’s crazy how I’m almost a decade into my career independently and I feel like I’m just getting started. I feel like I experienced a shift in my life, but also creatively with my music as well. It’s been almost 2 years since I released my eighth studio project — Soft Boy Era. I’m gearing up to release my ninth anticipated studio project — Wildcard, coming March 2026! This new era feels so refreshing and different from my past eras. My new single “Joker Dance” is just a taste of what the new album sounds like sonically.
If I stopped chasing my dreams, I would feel like I’m not fulfilling my purpose and gift that God has curated for me to be. I honestly have my moments where I’ve doubted what I am really suppose to be doing in my life. No matter how long I would take time away from making music, it would always come back around full circle.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Giovanni P. — twenty eight year old independent R&B singer/songwriter who loves to sing and express myself through music. It’s my way of escaping into my own world and being authentically myself.
I am currently in album mode still and I’m honestly having so much fun with this new music I’m making! This new album is probably my favorite to date as well. I don’t want to say too many details just yet, but it definitely tops everything I’ve done so far in my catalog. I have a lot of plans in stores for the new year that I can’t wait to share with my supporters!
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I always knew from an early age that I was different and special. I didn’t have clarity of what powerful really meant at the time, but as I’ve grown up and experienced life… I know that God intended for me to be something greater than I could even imagine.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Of course! There has been many times in my life where I may have thought about it, but in reality… I’ve never allowed myself to. Through the obstacles, I fell and got back up! I think as humans, we all have felt or currently have times that we have felt that way. It’s okay to have those moments and feel those emotions, but don’t let that mentality stop you from pivoting.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me adjusts to the energy I’m getting from people around me and my surroundings in general, but I’m always myself publicly and privately. I’m naturally a very private and reserved person. I love my space and have to isolate at times to maintain my peace and refuel my battery!
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I will regret living in my head more than I do just living in my moments and also wasting time on things/people that truly don’t matter. I’m at an age now where I’m accepting myself for who I am and moving past from anything that no longer serves me or is helping me get to where I’m trying to accomplish in my life. Time is flying by so fast in today’s world and I’m grateful to still be here regardless of all the chaos we’re all having to witness and experience in society.
