Hans Monfiston of Upper East Side on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Hans Monfiston. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Hans, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with my children. As an entrepreneur, it is often easy to get lost in a constant state of problem solving and development. It is critical to remember what is truly important, one of which is FAMILY. All work and no play isn’t a life to live. Making time for those who matter brings balance, joy, motivation, along with many other benefits.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Hans Monfiston, formerly based out of West Palm Beach/Miami, Florida. Currently I am based in New York City. I am my brand, and one extension of said brand is Camila T. Productions, a multimedia production, management, and entertainment company. Aside from my various entrepreneurial endeavors, I recently re-enrolled in school to finish pursuing my nursing degree, as I am also a Certified Surgical Technologist at a world renowned Cancer Center, and plan to pursue a pathway towards a CRNA while continuing to push boundaries and scale my businesses. What is interesting about myself as a brand and what I bring to the table, is unwavering resilience, work ethic, and endearing moral compass. I am solution based, and truly believe there is nothing that can stop us from achieving any goal imaginable. Also, our passion to give back and pour into people and communities that are unrepresented yet deserving of fair opportunity.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My mom. When my Dad passed in 1998 due to glioblastoma post op, I watched my mom endure many challenges, while working 2 jobs at times to make sure my sister and I had every blessing imaginable. She taught me the importance of hard work along with education.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of what others think!!! Especially those remotely close to me. I’ve learned to LET THAT GO! The only approval you need is your own. Do things that make YOU happy, that fulfill a sense of purpose within you. Be proud of decisions that free you.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
A lifelong project to express creatively through various mediums. This is all I want to do.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Worrying less…
