I discovered purpose from the long desire and passion that I had for politics through opportunities to serve the community. The desire to serve in politics commenced when I visited the General Assembly and met Senator Louise Lucas and Senator Randy Forbes. After I met them I knew that I would serve in the political arena. I kind of stumbled into acting out of pure curiosity more than anything else. I had always loved movies but had never thought of trying to go out and audition for anything until my sophomore year in high school when I auditioned for our school play. I knew someone from my water polo team who always performed in the school shows and he encouraged me to give it a try.  Read more>>

I became a social entrepreneur because life is short, and I wanted to put my life’s energy into something I believe in, something that’s bigger than myself. Ever since I was a child growing up on a sailboat on the bayou, I have felt a deep connection to the earth. I even designed the winning Earth Day T-shirt design at Conservancy Camp one year.  Read more>>

When my daughter was born back in 2012, she developed jaundice within 3 days of birth. It made me wonder how a brand newborn baby can get sick and have issues with the liver. Thankfully, she recovered within a few weeks. However, this incident made me curious and led me on a path to learn more about food and the environment. Read more>>

I struggled to find my purpose for years. It felt so daunting trying to find ‘the thing’ I was meant to do for the rest of my life. What if I messed up? What if I chose the wrong thing? These worries would keep me up at night. I was always curious by nature and eager to learn. And the more I learned, the more I realized labeling myself also meant putting myself into a box. In 2012 I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called Crohn’s disease. This disease came with so many challenges that I wasn’t prepared for. Overtime I found myself explaining my disease to others and I often had to advocate for myself at my doctor’s appointment. I realized that I had a voice and I wanted to take a horrible journey and turn into something beautiful. This is the moment I realized what my purpose was on the earth. Read more>>

I have a deep conviction that all people are creative and that creativity takes many forms. However, it took me sometime to understand and believe that even about myself. As I began exploring different creative expressions in my 20’s (drawing, scrapbooking, crocheting, and painting) I still avoided sharing anything I made or tried because it didn’t feel like real art or wasn’t as “good” as what others made.  Read more>>

My truth is that I found my purpose when I was at the lowest point of life. I was desperate for change and two amazing mentors stepped into my life and helped guide me towards it with out me really knowing it was happening. Slowly but surely I bought in and saw the beauty in giving of myself and how it impacted my life as well. There’s a freedom in helping people that has brought me closer to God, my friends and the community. Read more>>

Just as it is commonly said, upon reflection, I realize that my life’s purpose has always been present. When I sum up the experiences along the way, I can see and feel how they led me to becoming a hypnotherapist. Growing up as a very sensitive child, during a time when there was less awareness of emotional regulation, I also had to contend with a significant challenge—an unmistakable birthmark on my face. My purpose comes from a God-given desire to help others. Since I have been doing fitness all my life in one form or another, I became very good at helping people reach their goals and to also tap into resources that could help with, not just fitness, but overall wellness and peace of mind, as well as peace of body. Every time I see positive change in my clients’ wellbeing, it uplifts me and makes me more sure then ever that I am exactly where I am supposed to be, helping others reach as high as they can. Searching for my purpose became a huge priority for me the year I got laid off from my long term job 10 years ago. It was also the year I turned 50 and the year my oldest child left for university. Big year! I had never been so confused about what I was supposed to do next, let alone how to figure it all out. This sort of thing had always been so much more clear throughout my life. For reasons I was not yet aware of, I was stuck. Read more>>

My bold journey to purpose began as a little girl sitting with my father. To know my journey, you need to know my father. He is a proud, now retired, former police officer and career investigator. As long as I can remember, he would share stories, with my brother and I, of the work he was doing, the cases he was working on and the challenges that the law presented to investigators. He still speaks about helping people. Read more>>

I can still remember the moment that changed everything for me … I was trekking up the 400 to teach a new client the basics of skincare and how to do a simple makeup look. As I entered her home, I stumbled over the toys in my high heels and sat down with my shy new client and her young daughter watching our every move. By the end of the 2 hours, the young mother couldn’t take her eyes off of herself! She was smiling, confident, and blossomed into a whole new person right before my eyes! Read more>>

I love this question because I found my purpose when I stopped searching for it. Through a deep healing journey, I focused on why I wanted to find it – that’s when I started to remember my purpose. As a child, I was profoundly sensitive to people, animals, and the natural world. But like many of us, I neglected and buried my intuitive gifts, stumbling through an untethered life of trial and error. Read more>>

A great shrink. Long answer: I always knew. I always knew that I was an artist; a pianist, vocalist, writer, arranger, producer, but I had to learn how to recognize and overcome codependency before I could come close to embracing it. I love this question because the story isn’t a linear one. Growing up I was always a storyteller. I would make movies with my dad’s handheld camcorder, perform comedy routines in front of my parents, and I was always writing – poetry, essays, short stories, you name it. I loved it. Read more>>

Thanks for having me! Honestly just going through a bunch of different industries and trying a million and one things. I have a podcast called “She’s a Lady” and people ask me how it started but the purpose behind sharing stories of women, runs deep! Ever since the age of 12, I was given opportunities where I could serve other girls/women around me, and I had a desire to help them feel seen. It’s interesting how I knew for a long time that one of my callings in life was to uplift women however I could. Read more>>
