Some marriages last a year and others last decades – but from what we’ve seen, divorces are always difficult. It’s often disruptive emotionally, socially, financially and the emotional wounds can leave us less ready to take on challenges right when we need that strength the most. You know honestly I’m in a great space in this journey, however I have to say I don’t believe I’ve fully overcome this experience. Trust me I’m no where near where I was but there’s still a little residue. Having been married for almost two decades there are a lot of layers to peel back and although I feel I’m having great success in the peeling season, I’m sure there are still more layers to be removed. I overcame my divorce by being determined not to ever give up, walk in love, remain faithful to God and live a prayerful life. Going through a divorce really broke my heart, yet it fixed my focus. Sometimes in life we will be broken, bruised and battered. However, we must learn that as long as we are not buried, there’s still an opportunity to be bless all over again.
