Almost everything that’s changed the world in a positive way has been an unreasonable idea. It’s unreasonable, until it’s commons sense. That’s how change happens and so in order to make a difference in the world, it’s incredibly important to be able to ignore the naysayers. Some of the best and brightest from our community share their stories and advice below.

I’m always the type to look past all the negative things and continue to work hard, because when I started doing music I knew i would have negative and positive supporters.I focused on becoming better at making beats figuring out how to advance my sound each and every time I work on my craft. I realize the sacrifices, roads I’ve walked through that haven’t been easier & remember no one else is me nor will I ever be anyone else. Performing and creating music has been such a core part of me for the past twenty years. This keep growing in strengthening my skills in the arts at level I can. I also teacher music to children at Elementary school and this will be my 9th year. Currently, I’m working together with a band to get out and do more full band productions, recording a 3 song EP mini project and performing regularly for a bi weekly residency at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, TX. I stay focused. Anytime someone says I can’t do something, I make sure I do it even better. Like they say.. haters are your motivators! My wife was actually the brains behind our business Candy World USA and of course I wanted to help and support our new business together. She explained that she always dreamt about owning a candy store so she made it happen. She went viral on TikTok many times and accumulated almost 200,000 followers in 1 year! We love this business and it doesn’t even feel like work. We are hoping to expand to a warehouse soon and make our business bigger than ever! Read More>>

I always prioritize considering the ultimate outcome. I carefully assess whether what others are saying will benefit me or primarily serve their interests. I question if they genuinely have my best interests at heart and if they have achieved the kind of success I aspire to. I analyze whether the advice provided is truly helpful or potentially misleading, designed to divert me from my desired path. Once I discern their viewpoint, I strategically plan my course of action. I think about a couple of things, one being my grandfather. Nobody could tell Ronufo Velasquez a damn thing. If he knew deep down his gut was on to something he followed through.
Another thought I have is, what I do is much not only bigger than me but also bigger than anything a naysayer has to say. haha I’m not here to convince anyone about who I am, what I do and why I do it. Especially when life is unexpected. Read More>>

I would like to thank bold journey publication for allowing me to engage with your incredible viewership and have an important conversation surrounding this topic.
As I reflect throughout the years I have used nay-sayers and haters’ unfavorable outlooks about me and my goals as a motivation tool to reach the outcomes I wanted to obtain. Read More>>

I love the nay-sayers I can’t even lie. Some people don’t believe until they see things you know. So, whenever in life someone tells me that’s impossible or let’s me know they doubt I can pull off a vision I become inspired and obsessed with proving that all things are possible when you know your purpose, potential, and passion. I could care less about what a hater says. A wise man once told me “when your great they will hate”. I can’t allow another’s perspective of myself or what I do throw me off the vision God has implanted in my mind, body, and soul. Read More>>

Interestingly enough – I saw a message on social media recently and it said – “Entrepreneurship is risking it all for a dream nobody can see but you.”
When I started my entrepreneurship journey – there was so much excitement! I felt like I was going to take over the world! My dream and goals were going to executed to perfection and I would get all the business/customers in no time – and that just was not the reality first off. I have had to take so many public L’s I can’t even count on two hands – but what I have found for each person who has asked ‘how is that little business of yours going?’ or ‘are you still doing your business’ or ‘why don’t you give it up and just focus on something else’ – I anchor to my why. Honestly, I just am so oblivious sometimes that I can’t even tell if someone doesn’t like me or has anything negative to say about me until someone comes and tells me. Most of my haters are very quiet when I am around and loud when not in the room. I’ve known this to be true most of my life because I’m a military brat and I moved around a whole lot as child and as an adult up until I made 27 years. I’ve been in Memphis for a while now and I’ve been able to notice the patterns of a hater. This is why I avoid being inserted into friend groups, I usually end up getting kick out of said groups because I don’t want to get with their collective program. I also have learned through astrology that people and life are all about patterns. Somethings to look out for when connecting with new people for me is how frequently they want to hear from me and be in my energy. I mean like calling everyday, expecting me to show up for them more than they are willing to show up for me, or just extremely needy energy. My gut always lets me know who I can share my dreams and ideas with. I know how to keep an eye out for negativity greater than anything. I’m more aware of my energy now and as my girl Meg said, “I know a sexy mf like myself might offend some,” so I just move accordingly and keep a dope pair of shades on deck. Read More>>
