Risk-taking has been my thing for as long as I can remember. I vividly recall my time at my old dance studio, yearning to join the older kids in their routines. I was just a 6-year-old, but I mustered the guts to ask my rather intimidating teacher if I could join them. I knew I had to prove myself in front of everyone, but my desire was too strong to ignore. So, I went for it! That year, I danced with the older group which kickstarted a children’s performance group. Read more>>

I think that risk is one of the key components to being able to discern where luck and opportunity reside. It is one of the many hurdles to “widen the blinders,” so to say, and be able to see things in life where luck will manifest in a potential opportunity or moment for you to seize and utilize.  Read more>>

My philosophy on taking risks revolves around the belief that the worst outcome is a simple “no.” This perspective minimizes the fear of rejection or failure, empowering you to pursue opportunities with a bold attitude. By embracing the idea that a refusal is the most you can face, you’ve created a mindset that encourages proactive decision-making and risk-taking in various aspects of your life. Read more>>

I developed my ability to take risks through a journey of self-discovery and from leaving the comfort zone from my upbringing. Growing up, the emphasis in my household was on choosing the safe and familiar path, which clashed with my creative mindset. This led to a sense of not fully fitting in during my younger years. Taking risks doesn’t seem so daunting when you have faith in yourself and trust that no matter what happens, you will figure out a solution. I can think of many times when I have taken massive risks. From choosing to stay in California rather than fly home with less than $1,000 to my name, booking one-way tickets to France, and taking a bus ride to New York City to meet my business associates.  Read more>>

I think my ability to take risks comes first from the notion that there’s no one way in life; we’re all going to have to expire at some point and the path to get there is going to be completely different for each of us. For me this equates to having goals in life and a clear vision of what I want to accomplish, but then stepping back and living in the day to day and moment to moment. Read more>>

I developed my ability to take risks by practicing and engaging in self work. Very few people like taking risks or at least feel uncomfortable doing it, that is actually what defines what taking a risk is, stepping out of the comfort zone. As I practiced taking risks the stakes felt smaller and the crashes that I feared became soft landings. At last when I forwarded so quickly with my risk taking my fears decreased significantly. My appetite for risk wasn’t formed from any adrenaline-hungry tendencies. It was primarily a coming-of-age lesson. 20 years ago, I was making my first adult decisions. And with each one, it felt like everything was on the line. As if my success or failure would predetermine the rest of my life. Read more>>

I chose to pursue the field of Acting, and it has always been a challenge. Often, people have often told me how great it was that I am “following my dream.” I haven’t really thought of it that way. I really like this prompt because I’ve had discussions previously with folks about this. Initially, I grew up a trouble maker in and out of school. I never liked authority and took everything with a grain of salt. I always did things for the thrill of it, I loved and still do love the adventurous feeling that comes with doing something you know you aren’t supposed to be doing, and I think that’s where my ability to take risk developed.  Read more>>

I have never been one to take risks growing up. I was very much someone who liked to stay in my comfort zone and close to home. Taking risks has always been an integral part of my journey with Zeoli Media. The fear of not pursuing my passion and witnessing the potential success it could bring was far greater than the fear of failure. Sure, starting a video production agency has its ups and downs, but the excitement of bringing my creative vision to life made the potential pitfalls seem like mere plot twists in my grand cinematic journey.  Read more>>
