We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jade Omari. Check out our conversation below.
Jade, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I think all 3 are definitely important, but to me integrity is the most important because I think it ties all 3 together. It’s easy to be a good person when people are watching you, but being a good person when no one is watching takes intelligence and ultimately good energy to do.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jacely but most people know me by my artist name ‘Jade Omari’. I’m a 30 year old female singer/songwriter from Hyattsville, Maryland. My brand is ‘Hard Truth’ mainly in memory of my late cousin Solga & friend Damon (also known as Fame Reek), but to me Hard Truth is not only just about being real and speaking your truth, but being authentically and unapologetically yourself in world full of people wearing masks. I’m always working on new music, but I’m currently focused on making an album for the first quarter of 2026.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I think out of all the relationships I’ve encountered, my relationship with God has been and will ultimately always be the most important. For a long time I think it was hard to see myself through God’s eyes because it seemed like the world always found a way to remind me of my flaws or make me feel unworthy of anything good in general. But having a connection with God has really allowed me to embrace myself in totality including all my flaws. I honestly think it’s been the most impactful and important relationship I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely! I think a part of being human is being vulnerable enough to admit that sometimes things can just get really heavy, heavy enough to feel like you can no longer carry the weight. I’ve personally been through a lot of heavy moments where I just wanted to quit and give up. But I’m fortunate enough to have constant reminders that I’m destined for something great in this life & I can’t experience that greatness if I quit. So I take my little private moments to go through that heaviness, and I keep pushing.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
100%. I believe everything done in the dark eventually comes to light so there’s no point in me lying or pretending to be something that I’m not. I do think some people from my past might disagree simply because they probably still hold on to who I used to be, but I’m someone who genuinely learns from my mistakes and makes the necessary changes because I ultimately want to be the person that God intended for me to be when He created me. I also want to make sure my supporters know who it is they’re supporting, and in order for that to happen I have to be transparent about who I am and the things I believe so that they can fairly decide if it’s someone they actually want to support.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I undoubtedly believe that I’m doing what I was born to do.
