Jay Jordan Poirier Whelan Honest & HNSTmagazine’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Jay Jordan Poirier Whelan Honest & HNSTmagazine and have shared our conversation below.

Jordan & HNSTmagazine, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Our first 90 minutes of the day in office are used for scouting and socializing with other creators from around the world, our entire business runs on word of mouth and finding people one by one that we believe fit the criteria for our magazine or simply for us to reshare. Places like X and Instagram being our main focuses as TikTok can be quite inflated and promotional

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Here at HNSTmagazine, we establish physical connections thru interviews or simple engagement, to handpick quality candidates for our yearly magazine published at Barnes & Noble and Amazon, amongst others. These creators range from influencers to models to businesses that also promote creators, anyone we believe our readers would enjoy. HNSTmagazine reached 1M impressions on Instagram with our release of Issue 01.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Having children can change your entire route in life, prior to my first, my hobbies were for fun, my life was for myself and meaningless, once I had children it gave me a course I had to follow, one with much more rewards than a life alone.

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
A interview was conducted on Youtube with a lady by the name of Taraji Rom on youtube and myself, this interview being the first time out of any interview and most situations in my life, where I felt as tho someone truly took the time to hear out my life story and what I had been thru, I truly commend her for that experience she’s an amazing interviewer and woman.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Everything comes down to time. When a new trend emerges, I always like to tap in for a week, 7 days, I analyze those 7 days on paper, and write down the engagement trends and volume of people involved, after 7 days, you find 80% of trends die down by 60-80% compared to that first 2 days, if it doesnt, or remains the same, I consider that a foundational shift, as it tends to build from that point on.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What false labels are you still carrying?
Currently there are false allegations against our CEO, with him being unable to run the companies, brand pages or social medias what so ever until the trial is over, this has been ongoing for 6 months and will continue into Late 2026.
