We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jillian L Xavier. Check out our conversation below.
Jillian L, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside work that brings me immense joy is walking in Mother Earth. Grounding unwanted energies embracing the love I have for my self and my wellbeing. Spending time with the ocean the Mother of the Water, enjoying nature as we are walking plant’s ourselves.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jillian Lisa Xavier, founder and CEO of DREGLO Cannabis Testing Laboratory in Long Beach, California. I’m honored to be recognized as the first Black woman and social equity applicant to open and operate a successful cannabis testing lab in the city. At DREGLO, we will specialize in analytical testing, compliance, and consumer safety—ensuring that cannabis products are clean, effective, and trustworthy.
What makes my work unique is that I fuse rigorous science with visionary purpose. DREGLO doesn’t just test cannabis; we honor it. Through programs like: Sacred Science of Cannabis, we will train and certify the next generation of cannabis lab professionals with both technical expertise and a respect for the plant as a powerful ally. This balance of professionalism and reverence is at the heart of everything I do.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding DREGLO’s footprint, building partnerships, and advocating for true equity in the cannabis industry. At the same time, I’m developing The School and Shift in Higher Consciousness and Grid Knowledge, a visionary project that integrates plant medicine, spiritual science, and education. My ultimate goal is to bridge science and spirit in a way that empowers communities and sets a new global standard for the cannabis industry
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one with my son, D’Andre. His transition was the most profound moment of my life, and in the midst of that grief, cannabis became my ally—a healer, a companion, and eventually, my professional calling. I also carry the light of my daughters, AnnaLilly and Taylor, who I was not able to bring into this world. Though their time was brief, their presence is eternal. Together, they are my angels and my guiding constellation.
Through their legacy, I came to understand cannabis not just as a plant, but as a sacred teacher. It guided me through pain and showed me resilience. Every test we run in the lab, every program I build, and every fight for equity is part of the promise I carry forward in honor of my children—their light continues to guide my work every single
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain and started using it as power two years ago, when I put down the alcohol and chose cannabis instead. Soon after, I went on a mushroom journey where I was told, very clearly, that I am a plant medicine scientist. That moment changed everything.
From then on, I no longer used cannabis just to numb myself—I began to honor her as my ally and my Sister Priestess. I learned to work with the plant consciously, not for escape but for empowerment. That choice became the foundation of my healing, my science, and my purpose.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
My mission is to build schools of higher consciousness for the New Earth, no matter how long it takes
I believe I’m here for a purpose, and I’m committed to it no matter how long it takes. My purpose is to help with the peaceful evolution of humanity and the gridding of the New Earth consciousness. That vision lives through my work of building The School and Shift in Higher Consciousness, a place designed to support the young ones who are already arriving with upgraded DNA and a cosmic mission.
This school isn’t just for California—it’s a global project. I see campuses in Sedona, Mount Shasta, Hawaii, and anywhere else the work is called to be. It’s a lifelong commitment. Because when we find our mission, we stop wandering—we start building. And my mission is to create spaces where science, spirit, and higher learning come together to prepare the next generation for what they came here to do.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as a woman of integrity and strength. My life path has not been easy—I lost my only son, D’Andre, and have walked the last nine years with him as an angel guiding me. Yet through that grief, I kept standing, kept building, and kept believing in humanity’s peaceful evolution.
I want to be remembered as the first woman to open a successful cannabis testing lab in Long Beach, someone who stood firm despite politics, setbacks, and inequities. I want people to see that I didn’t just build a lab—I built a movement: an environmental lab, a School and Shift in Higher Consciousness, and partnerships that empowered others to own their businesses fully.
Most of all, I want people to know that I turned my pain into purpose. I overcame alcohol through faith, chose cannabis as my ally, and dedicated my life to science, spirit, and service. My story is one of resilience, vision, and devotion—the story of a lioness who kept moving forward, no matter what.
