I’m like Clark Kent and Superman. By day, I’m Clark Kent — working in healthcare, serving my community, and advocating for access, equity, and wellness. By night, I step into my Superman mode — creating media that uplifts, empowers, and tells the stories that deserve to be seen and heard. Through The Community Spotlight, I shine light on voices that inspire change and celebrate the power of resilience and representation

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Jomil Luna — The Influencer, Public Health Advocate, and Visionary Behind The Community Spotlight
Jomil Luna is a dynamic TV host, public health professional, and creative visionary whose life’s work bridges service, storytelling, and social impact. Born and raised in Camden, New Jersey, to a proud Puerto Rican family, Jomil’s passion for people and purpose has made him a leading voice in media and community empowerment.
By day, he’s Clark Kent — serving in healthcare, building initiatives that strengthen communities, and advocating for equity, access, and well-being. By night, he becomes the creative powerhouse behind The Community Spotlight, a TV series and nonprofit foundation he founded in 2020 to amplify voices that inspire change.
Through The Community Spotlight, Jomil has created a media-driven platform where stories of culture, creativity, and resilience take center stage. As host and producer, he brings together artists, leaders, and everyday heroes to share their journeys — sparking connection, awareness, and empowerment. His ability to blend authenticity with production excellence has positioned the show as a beacon for underrepresented voices across the Tri-State area and beyond.
With over decades of experience in both public health and media, Jomil stands at the intersection of compassion and creativity — transforming storytelling into a force for community building. Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
A pivotal influence in Jomil’s journey was his former supervisor and mentor, Michael Camacho, who recognized his potential early on. Michael believed in Jomil’s ability to use his voice and talents for a greater purpose, encouraging him to step boldly into his calling. That mentorship became the foundation of Jomil’s leadership style — one rooted in gratitude, guidance, and giving back.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Jomil’s success story didn’t come without challenges. In 2016, he faced one of the most difficult chapters of his life — a season where nothing seemed to go right and every door felt closed. It was in that moment of surrender that everything began to shift. Jomil turned inward, embraced self-improvement, and began practicing positive affirmations and intentional growth. The results were life-changing — new opportunities, renewed confidence, and a vision that would eventually give birth to The Community Spotlight.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Jomil names Michelle Obama — not for her power, but for her character. Her wisdom, grace, and ability to balance strength with humility continue to inspire him. Like her, Jomil leads with heart, purpose, and a deep belief that true influence comes from lifting others.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story Jomil Luna hopes people tell when he’s gone is one filled with light, laughter, and purpose. That Jomil was a force to be reckoned with — a man who wore many hats and loved every single one of them.
A creative soul who used his gifts not for fame, but for good.
A storyteller who brought people together through compassion, conversation, and connection.
A TV host whose energy lit up every room and whose words inspired countless hearts.
He hopes to be remembered as someone who gave endlessly — to his community, to his craft, and to every person who crossed his path. Someone who believed in people’s power to change the world by simply being authentic.
In the end, Jomil Luna’s legacy is joy — a ball of energy, a bright spirit, and a creative force who turned his life into a masterpiece of service, purpose, and love.
