Hi Jorge, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I’m walking in a path that’s been set before me—not just to build a business, but to fulfill a calling. My purpose is to reach back and raise the next generation by equipping them with the tools, skills, and wisdom they need to succeed. This is bigger than profit or position. This is my life’s work, my assignment, and I’m fully committed to impacting future generations for greatness through coaching , education , and by making intentional investment in their lives.
I teach young people how to move forward with clarity, conviction, and action—because when their purpose is clear, transformation is inevitable.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jorge Vega. I’m a certified life coach, licensed master barber, and barbershop owner, as well as the co-founder of the Mindset Makeover program. I’ve dedicated my life to serving the youth in my community by helping them transform their thinking and step into purposeful, meaningful lives. Through live speaking engagements and hands-on seminars, I’m actively launching the Mindset Makeover curriculum across multiple local school districts to create lasting impact and real change in the lives of our youth.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I grew up in the projects believing survival was my limit, but I’ve since broken free from that mindset. By realigning my thinking with purpose, faith, and goals, I’ve let go of limiting beliefs and embraced the truth that abundance is available to me through God. Now I live knowing I am resourceful, capable, and limitless—and I help the young people I serve do the same by showing them that everything they need is already within reach when their mindset changes.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could speak to my younger self, I’d say this: believe that anything is possible. Limitations aren’t real—they’re stepping stones. Push through adversity, fight for what you desire, and never settle. Don’t live by the limits others place on you—break them, pursue your dreams relentlessly, and show the world what’s possible when you refuse to quit.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe real change is possible for anyone who wants it, and I’m committed to bringing that change to my community. I refuse to watch my people live beneath their potential, so I’m dedicated to sharing the information, resources , and proven frameworks that empower transformation. Now that I have access to these tools, my mission is to make sure they reach my people so they can apply them, rise up, and create the lives that they deserve.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When my life is complete, I want to be remembered as someone who genuinely cared and who reached back to help others rise from the same circumstances I came from. Above all, I want my legacy to be that I lifted the name of Jesus Christ, lived my faith boldly, and brought others into the Kingdom of God.
