Joseph Patrick Moore on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Joseph Patrick Moore. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Joseph Patrick, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Playing Bass, Composing, Recording, and spending time with my two Beagle dogs.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a Bassist, Composer, and Recording Artist currently living in the Las Vegas area. I’ve recorded and released several solo CD projects and I’m currently the bassist and back-up-band leader for the Cirque Du Soleil Las Vegas Residency Show – Mystére.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Two People: My Mother and my first school Band Director, Mr. Chet Hedgecoth.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Be Yourself! Don’t allow the thoughts or vibrations of others, persuade or alter your judgement about yourself. Let go, be free and TRUST God and the Universe! Ultimately just listen to your inner voice.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! When I’m performing, I dance (and play) as if nobody is watching. I AM my authentic self…

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I worked hard at my craft, I treated ALL people with respect and was a champion for the underdog! I was a lover not a fighter!
