Kelly Ryan on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Kelly Ryan and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My 1 year old just started walking!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Kelab Events & Design specializes in sophisticated, curated events that feel as effortless as they are unforgettable. Whether you’re planning a wedding, a milestone birthday, or a corporate event, we bring a creative, high-end approach to every detail—so our cllients can celebrate with ease and confidence.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My Dad has an incredible work ethic, and taught me how important it is to lead with integrity and never take short cuts in business.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Keep nurturing your creativity because it can take you further than you would ever imagine!

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My family is my number one priority!

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When have you had to bet the company?
When I first went full time with Kelab it was the year after COVID. I had been laid off from my corporate event planning job, and was working as an executive assistant at a financial lending firm. I wasn’t happy in the role and I quit with no back up plan. I hadn’t even created the LLC for Kelab yet. I asked my husband to give me one year to make more than I was making at my salaried job, and I was able to. Now I have a much more flexible schedule that works for me and my growing family, and I am bringing home more than I was in a corporate role.
