We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kendra Erika Fulmer. Check out our conversation below.
Kendra Erika, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I’d go with integrity every day of the week. Whilst some solely just have either intelligence or energy singularly, it takes the combination of the two to hold integrity. Someone can have great intelligence, but a particular energy that channels or directs that intelligence in a particular way. Many villains have minds that won’t quit, but their energy is, well, villainous, so it’ll only take them in that direction. Many wallflowers and pushovers have great energy, but no intelligence, so they get walked over by the villains, and those alike. But, when you have integrity, it’s the successful combination of the two that makes you intuitive and discerning in your choices. When you need to use intellect in some situations, when you need to use energy in others, and when you need both to help you optimally navigate through those times of decisiveness. It gives you just the right amount of spice so you can still be a savor to those around, and still maintain your wits.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Kendra Erika is an acclaimed singer, songwriter, and actress known for blending
sultry sophistication with bold originality. With five Billboard Top 10 dance hits,
including the #1 smash “Self-Control,” a modern take on the Laura Branigan
classic, Kendra has earned her place as a force in the global pop and dance scenes.
Her music brings together intoxicating melodies, fearless storytelling, and a
cinematic flair that continues to evolve with each release.
Her latest single, “I’m Nice Till I’m Not” (out August 22, 2025), ushers in a bold
new era. Fusing a flapper-style jazz groove with high-energy dance-pop beats,
the track is an unapologetic anthem of self-worth and boundaries. The vintage-
meets-modern music video—shot inside Las Vegas’ iconic speakeasy Capo’s
Restaurant – is a dazzling tribute to power, poise, and old-school glamour with a
sharp modern edge.
Earlier this year, her hit single “Body Language” took the charts and clubs by
storm, reaching #2 on iTunes and racking up over 2 million YouTube views. With
global reach through a KDM Music distribution deal across 19 Asian territories,
and a remix by GRAMMY-nominated DJ StoneBridge featured on iHeart Radio,
“Body Language” has cemented Kendra’s international impact. The song earned
her the Best Dance Award at the Hollywood Independent Music Awards in July
2025.
Kendra’s rising influence across Asia was further amplified when she was named a
Goodwill Ambassador to China by the Hollywood Global Film Festival. As part
of this honor, Kendra filmed a Chinese New Year greeting that aired across China
and 170 other Asian-speaking countries during the official countdown. Her
message, which introduced “Body Language” to millions of viewers, celebrated
the Year of the Snake and shared her wishes for health, prosperity, and unity
through music. It marked a milestone moment in her mission to create art that
bridges cultures and uplifts audiences worldwide.
Beyond the club scene, Kendra is embracing her love for classics and cinematic
standards with “License to Thrill,” a sultry one-woman show inspired by the
timeless elegance of the James Bond universe. Performing iconic Bond themes
with a twist of her own flair, the show marks her transition into more sophisticated,
theatrical storytelling, proving she’s just as commanding on stage as she is on the
charts.
Kendra’s artistry extends into crossover genres as well. Her rendition of Frank
Sinatra’s “Witchcraft,” with Ralph Johnson and Myron McKinley of Earth, Wind
& Fire, earned the Best Producer/Production award at the Hollywood
Independent Music Awards. At the same time, her high-voltage single “Thriller
Killer” soared to #2 on the UK’s Music Week pop club chart.
On stage, Kendra has opened for Jason Derulo, headlined NYC’s Tea Dance for
Pride, and performed at top venues including The Abbey in West Hollywood,
Honey Delray in Florida, and Rocco’s in Los Angeles. Whether she’s channeling
old-Hollywood glamour or igniting the dance floor, Kendra delivers unforgettable
performances that captivate audiences across genres and generations.
Originally from Boca Raton, Florida, and now based in Los Angeles, Kendra
Erika continues to break new ground, pushing boundaries, honoring timeless
influences, and inviting the world into her ever-evolving musical story.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Being a people pleaser has served its purpose in the developmental stages of my life, where I needed to be virtuously obedient to my instructors and guides, who were developing me during those formative years. Being solely the student. Now, I feel that part of me needs to be released, because although I am still learning, I’m learning in my own way. Through some experiences, industry and personal, being a people pleaser was not a desirable or healthy thing to be in my early adult life. Boundaries for me, were something that took time in establishing. Saying no was considered something you said to be defiant, and saying yes was something more suitable and a security for the receiving end to know you were going to obey in conforming. Now, saying no, and saying yes, have a different meaning to me now, in that saying no is a good thing, and saying yes can also be a good thing as well. It all goes back to utilizing that hard learned discernment to keep yourself open to some things, and to preserve yourself from others.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Many, many, many times. Somehow I just keep going. But, I have not been immune to almost having given up.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
There are two kinds of smart. Book smart and street smart. Both are getting it wrong today. We live in a world where nuances are everywhere. The book smarts limit themselves, while the street smarts can live with no limitations. Both can be dangerous.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
Not having offspring to share the legacy with, and to cultivate that familial side of me, which is the backbone to any healthy and supportive success.
