Kevica (Vee) Towns’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Kevica (Vee) Towns and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevica (Vee) , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Who are you learning from right now?
Who am I learning from right now is my surroundings and myself. I believe growth comes from experience and stories come from discomfort which is a sign of growth

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a music artist first and I care and advocate for at risk youth/adults. I love being able to make a difference in the community. I am a bonus mom and I admire what it means to take care of those that learn from me on a daily basis. I am a Michigan native who just moved across the country to branch out my means of connection in music, self, growth, and career. I am building a foundation that changes with empowerment.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Who was I before the world tried molding me is someone I couldn’t look in the mirror and actually recognize. I am a creator, advocate, mom, leader, team player, and so much more.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wounds of my life are the behaviors I have to unlearn, the trauma I have yet to face/resolve, and the “insecurities” that make me, me. I am a healing progress, I believe I heal everyday. To ACTUALLY heal is to FACE and I’m not afraid to do so.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
The important truth that I believe people agree with me on is that kids are the world and they make it go round. Something we once were.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
What I’ll regret not doing is everything I can do. I don’t wish to live with regrets and I wish to live this life to the fullest.
