Kimberley Moore -Wilson of Baltimore and Delaware on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kimberley Moore -Wilson. Check out our conversation below.

Kimberley, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Wow, this question is so profound; it has been difficult for me for the past couple of years after losing my mother.
I recall sitting in the church looking at my mother lying in the coffin; she looked wonderful and peaceful.
I said Mommy’s death is finally, there’s no getting back up and saying wait, I am not done. I got some more things. I need to do,

I grieve for an entire month. Once I came out of the grieving, I started focusing on myself and getting myself together mentally and physically. It was a new day and a new way of life; my happiness was irreplaceable.
I started focusing on my business and just helping individuals in need.

August 5, 2024, I met this phenomenal man who knocked me off my feet. He has shown me the true definition of love, and that it still exists. He loves all my flaws. He often tells me I am what he prayed and asked Allah for, and I never knew he was exactly what I needed, but my God knew.

In January, he proposed to me a couple of months after we started dating. Once we both confirmed we were exclusive, he asked me to marry him, and I said yes. January 8, 2025, at Broadway Diner, he proposed to me on one knee with a beautiful ring, and I said yes, yes, yes!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, Readers, it’s such a pleasure to meet each of you and share a little of my world with you all.
My name is Kimberley Moore, but please call me Kimme.

To start, I have two incredible sons! My family is growing. I have a husband now and another amazing son. I have two brothers and one sister, and we are very close; that’s how my mother raised us, and we are very supportive of one another. Our father is still living at 80 years old.

I enjoy and love life; life is beautiful, there’s nothing like it. Peace and happiness are my best friends.

I am a servant of the people. The name of my organization is My Purpose, helping individuals find their purpose!
I work with individuals who are battling substance addiction and mental health issues. It is truly an awarding field of services to be in. Witnessing indiviulas reaching their goals through recovery and feeling what it’s like to accomplish their goal successfully is unbelievable.

I don’t give up on my clients and ask them not to give up on themselves. I let them know they are needed and the world would not be the same without them in it. I remind my clients, Life is not perfect, but dammint it’s beautiful!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a girl from the boggie down Bronx full of life and ready for whatever! Then life started giving me life lessons I didn’t know I needed.

I was a strong-minded, stubborn weed in the concrete, standing on my truth. I was hired at Leak and Watts, working with last-chance individuals. If they didn’t attend Leak and Watts, their subsequent placement would be a juvenile detention center.

I was good as a front-line counselor; I didn’t accept any mess from staff or the clients. One day, the executive, Betty Wienfiled, pulled me into her office and told me to sit down.

She told me I liked you, was going far in this field, and the clients needed me. From there, she took me under her wing and taught me everything she knew. She saw my potential and greatness.

This story concludes all the facilities in the Bronx and was the Ombudsman for the entire organization.
From that moment on, I have accepted who I am, and there’s nothing I can’t do or accomplish!

Oh, I forgot I blossomed into a rose, I’m not stubborn anymore, or I’m a weed in the concrete.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Losing my mother, once you lose your mother, the pain, the way you see the world, it’s not the same anymore.
Not being able to feel her loving hugs and her excitement to see you walking through the door hurts, but if she were a phenomenal mother, she taught you well and prepared you for this day.

My mother told me to grieve her, but not long, get myself together, live life, and take comfort in knowing that my sibling and I did right by her, and her happiest moments were with us.

I heal because of my mother’s words and the memories of her. I have been through a lot these past years, but have grown much stronger and wiser. Life is beautiful!

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
LOVE!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Rushing to get home, I would call my husband and say Big Daddy, let’s go for a long ride to nowhere every day we can.

I would spend as much time with the boys, my siblings, and close friends. I would live life how I want to and never be in a rush again.

Carolyn Watch, my heart ride or die, worked with me in Baltimore City with the clients battling addiction and mental health issues. She is fantastic with the care and love she has for the clients. Her testimony and the walk she walks speak volumes about her work in the communities of Baltimore City, and my husband is her son.

I want to introduce you to my husband, Travis Wilson.
