KINGDRUMS on Life, Lessons & Legacy

KINGDRUMS shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

KINGDRUMS, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of producing that brings me joy is spending time with my family! Family is so important to me and it’s really why I do what I do!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is KINGDRUMS, a music producer with over 5 million streams worldwide. I specialize in creating high-energy, melody-driven tracks that fuse addictive rhythms with the type of structure that works perfectly for hype performances and global music. What makes my sound unique is how I tailor each production not just to sound good in the studio, but to feel powerful on stage, from dynamic rap sections to soaring vocal hooks and unexpected transitions that keep listeners engaged. Right now, I’m focused on building a catalog of undeniable tracks for top artists. My goal is to collaborate with labels, join writing camps, and contribute to shaping the next wave of national and international hits.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
I definitely think my big brother Travis Greene taught me the most about production! I use to watch him create tracks and he would walk me through production tips and even give me game on how to create timeless records that an artist immediately could connect with!!

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely!! This music industry isn’t for the weak, it’s times that it seems nothing is moving, and the world has forgotten about you. Its time where you may not have placements for some months even years like me, but you have to stay consistent and push through those moments of doubt because the WILL test you!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I think my closest friends would say relationships matter most to me! I care more about how you’re doing vs what you can do for me! It’s a gazillion talented people on earth but I care most about the person NOT the gift!

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I definitely believe I’m doing what I was born to do! Music comes so natural to me and I can’t see myself happy doing anything else !
