Kitryn Marie of Affton, STL, Mo, County on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kitryn Marie. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Kitryn, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Thank you for asking this! I recently had a book published. “WHEN HE HAD HER” is available on Amazon. It is fiction.

“It is about one woman reclaiming her voice and taking back her power after narcissistic abuse. Kate takes on an assignment as a journalist, using her skills to expose the deceit and fraud being committed by her estranged ex, Hank Daniels, a businessman who goes from self-made to self-destruct. Constructing evidence against him for the Feds, knowing her experience with him, and their long-term relationship. Investigating his business dealings, she turns state evidence, he is skimming off the top and laundering money, using women or anyone else along the way to get what he wants — ego, money, control, and power just to be on top.”

I wrote the book in mind for women who have never felt seen and or understood after coming out of a narc relationship, due to the abuse and gaslighting they endured during the relationship, questioning their identity, wondering who they were that altered their perception of themselves.

It took a little over a year to write. It was published on July 5th of this year. One of the proudest moments of my creative works. I have been told it is a cinematic novella!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Kitryn Marie. I am an artist, writer (published author), speaker, a life and business coach who teaches ART ENRICHMENT CLASSES, so individuals can better their life through perception and perspective.

I teach group acrylic painting and how to create a Vision Board. Each class is taught with the principles of psychology and life coaching. { Disclaimer: I am not a DR or psychologist.} These are ART ENRICHMENT CLASSES}

The painting class is a lesson in color theory and how color has an impact on our lives, while teaching hand-eye-mind coordination. Shaping a concept into an image. It is 3-4 hours of pure creative fun, as we move the paints around. You get to pick your theme.

The Vision Board class is a cut-and-paste project exploring behavior and patterns in your life, where you have been, examining your influences, and understanding how the product of the environment has shaped your life. We dig into who you wanted to be growing up vs who you have become as an adult, and what can you do to alter the person you always wanted to be. It’s an open dialogue class where everyone can learn from others’ experiences. You share what you want… This class also explores how to find a better purpose in your life so you can live towards a higher calling. It is an eye-opening experience.

Recently, I reopened my Business coaching class for women. This class teaches how to monetize your hobby for passive income, be camera-ready, go live, and do video. I teach photography tricks for social media marketing, knowing which photo will “speak” to the customer for a call to action. We talk about LLC vs sole proprietor and we touch base on business law and ethics. How to make money and not take advantage of your customer using billing systems that go against ethics and violate the Usury law. I explain the fundamentals of why you need a blog and how to use the wrap-around theory, connecting it to your website and your social media.

My business, which falls under the “Kitryn Marie” brand endeavor, is a full spectrum of creative possibilities for those who want and need something to expand their current situation. They are take-what-you-need classes… IT’S NOT A COURSE… and they are affordable!

***I am working more on content creation and taking on clients who need their products introduced to the correct market. Offering a more personalized visual of the benefits and their practical usage for daily use. Doing this allows me to reach a wider audience. My YOUTUBE channel has grown. My ability to speak and put all things into perspective has greatly advanced my creative abilities.

Also, I am partnering with venues that allow me to teach at their facility. It has allowed me to branch out more. Currently, I am available to teach at Schlafly Bottleworks in Maplewood. I am looking for more partnerships and collabs

There is another book in the works, “SEASIDE SHORE,” a more contemporary romance with plenty of plot twists. Hoping late fall will be its release.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I have spent 32 years in the restaurant industry. That statement alone should be enough! How I have shown up first for whoever I have lent my hand, and how I have turned out for what was needed. It’s been a gig that has allowed me to not only force feed people, talk them to death, but to entertain off of my personality while earning a decent living. It allowed me freedom to explore and expand on my art and creative work. Every day in that industry… release … big sigh.

Although I believe I have been releasing parts of myself my whole life. As a child, I wanted to do theatre, musicals, maybe somewhere in this lifetime, I can still do that.

Writing has been the biggest release. When words couldn’t be spoken or found to say, writing allowed me the expression needed. dialogue, conversations, and characters… I have kept a blog since 2012, “Pretty In Pink… Perfect In Paisley.” The pen is mightier than the sword. http://Imperfectionsmadebeautiful.blogspot.com

I turned 64 in July, give me time, LOL There is always more to come with me! Don’t blink and DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE me. I can sprinkle a little bit more of what I got on those that need it. (Trust me on that) Release 😉

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
This is a big one! Many individuals suffer from impostor syndrome.

I grew up in a time when you didn’t have too many options: Graduate high school, maybe go to college, get married, have babies, and just be happy with what you have. I did all the above, and it was not enough. I knew there was more for me. How does God, source, the universe, create without the possibility of more? It’s here you just need to know how to tap into what is meant for you… because if it is, it is not going to pass you!

Mostly being told all of my life, “you can’t do that,” “You’re a dreamer, that is not possible,” or in late, when my sister said, ” You are embarrassing yourself. You aren’t what you claim.” That took the wind out of my sails. (irony, she paraded around for 2 decades pretending to be Stevie Nicks) People only know you for how they think they know you, and they base that perception on a reality that no longer exists. It’s called a simple mind stuck in a box with the lid closed.

No one really knows what a person goes through, especially if they are not around to see behind the scenes when someone is trying to better their life and learn something, not only about themselves, but also learn a whole new craft (to earn higher) that they thought wasn’t possible. It’s bettering the performance because the education is there to back it up!

Studying life coaching wasn’t so that I could become a therapist; it was about learning and educating myself on principles based in psychology, exploring the conditions people live through, and how it shapes the way we see ourselves and the surrounding world that we live in. Hurt people hurt people and when a wounded ego gets involved, no one wants to see anyone do better than themselves. It is the small mind that can not comprehend what else is available to achieve a greater purpose! A higher learning. Once a person becomes educated, NO ONE can take that away from you, and once you actually see something, you can never unsee it! I use these principles and theories in all of the classes I teach!

My levels of perception have become intuitive, I see energy before it even walks in the room, and speaks. I observe everything and I analyze every bit of it.

So what wound?

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
It’s a curse and a blessing… Yes, this is all me! In its truest sense of the word… authentic and raw! Welcome to my world! This is my life! Kitryn Marie, C’mon down~

My reality check comes from asking myself, ” If I met me, would I like me?” LOL I would appreciate me! I would have to warm up to me to understand me! And that right there is where I meet myself coming and going. I know for a fact that most people do not understand me. They are curious about who I am, although all who are in my circle tolerate me very well. I am a force not to be reckoned with, but I promise you … it will be me you will want in your corner! I stand on integrity and truth, and for one minute do not think I won’t call you out on______________ You name it! It is not about me always being right, it is about coming in with correctness and doing what is the correct thing to do on all matters!

Now, the flip side to that public version is, I love the quiet! We live in a noisy world, and in most cases, it’s too peopley out there with too many opinions about things they do not know or understand the logistics of, and the amount of energy that is in our atmosphere right now is giving off over sensory overload. I will retreat and shut off for days on end. After a while that public version needs to turn off and not say a thing. I love the quiet and I have no issue with being alone!

With all that said, the extrovert that all see on the daily, can very easily become the introvert.

The blessing and the curse… It’s all me! I am accountable for me! All versions of what people see it is me!

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
I won’t …That is simple! I live to take chances. Life is short, and regrets come with guilt and shame. It is no crime to fail, to be single and or to struggle.

It is those who fear the experience and the adventure that comes with change. That is the regret that follows as you get older. What didn’t you do that you could have tried harder, or altered ego, and moved it out of the way to live better and happier?

Everything I have set out to do in my life, I have thus far achieved! So no regrets here!
