Laramie Otto of Sarasota & Orlando, Florida on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Laramie Otto. Check out our conversation below.

Laramie, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day really revolve around peace and setting intention. I get up and get myself ready for the day, take my dog for a walk and make myself breakfast. I like to start the day with peace and quiet and no phone time to just appreciate silence. As silly as that sounds the world is so loud and being a social media manager I’m constantly on my phone and computer consuming content so taking that time in the morning before diving into my work is so worth it!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Laramie Otto, I’m a social media manager and content creator. I help overwhelmed entrepreneurs and businesses connect with the ideal clients online so they can focus on their bottom line. What makes me different is I really love to learn, every business I work with I learn about that company and the whole business not just enough to post on social media. I also over communicate with my clients, there is nothing more important than communication with your clients!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother taught me the most about work and having a strong work ethic. Growing up I watched her work tirelessly and always help me with my school work as well even if it was exhausting, she is the most hard working person I know. I also learned from her how I wanted to show up for people and help them with my work!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
When I started my business I strived for success like we all do of course! However through the struggles I learn the most about myself. If things are great you get comfortable and don’t grow or learn as much. When I was struggling and had dips in my business that is when I learned the most. I would take losing a client so personal when it really has nothing to do with me so over time I’m developed a thicker skin and learned not to take things so personal and when you fall down to get back up and go again, because being upset over something and harping on it won’t get you anywhere!

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My people matter the most to me. I really don’t put myself first as much as I should. I really keep my circle small but if you’re in that circle you know how much you mean to me. I’ve lost many important people in my life so I really hold tight to the people I have that truly know me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I think my customers would miss me checking in on them, not just for work but just checking in on how they are doing. More and more people don’t have someone that just checks in and makes sure they are doing ok and you would be surprised how far it goes just sending a quick text to someone.
