Leigha, thanks for joining us again, we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and insights about Profit Over People. Let’s start with a quick summary to bring everyone up to speed.
Profit Over People, in a nutshell, is an analytical philosophy of the global political system. Written by Noam Chomsky, a laureate professor of linguistics at the University of Arizona and an institute professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Neoliberalism and Global Order

“Neoliberalism is capitalism with gloves off.” – McChesney

Profit Over People discusses how neoliberalism is disguised as a democracy while exploiting the American people for capital gains.

Further, Chomsky lays out how in the name of democracy the US government has exploited other nations for control of exports. Neoliberalism disguised as free market policy.

Great, so maybe you can get into a bit more detail about why this book feels relevant to you and perhaps you can touch on any lessons or insights that resonated with you?
Truth matters, logic matters, analysis matters. When a topic such as neoliberalism or global order are in fact analyzed one must face those truths discovered.

“Knowledge without action is futile.” – Abu Bakur

I understand after reading Profit Over People, in the United States, Neoliberalism has been disguised as Free Market Policy with generations of corporate funded global agendas placing corporate interest over human welfare.

This book was written in the late 1990’s where free trade agreements were dominant. Today we face tariff policy, which adds even more burden onto the working class.

After reading the book, if you had to boil it down to one key take-away, what would it be?
One way to fight cooperate greed is to withhold funds, starve their asses like they starving us.

How did you discover this book?
I was turned onto Chomsky at my community college in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Laramie County Community College.

Shout out to David Zwonitzer, Instructor, English/Philosophy who opened my mind and John Sanford, Instructor, Psychology, who made me question everything I thought I knew.

Only through a large amount of deprogramming was this book ready to find me.
