Hi Lenajah, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
Honestly, I think a lot of people are secretly struggling with comparison. In this generation, it’s so easy to look around and see what our peers are accomplishing, the goals they’re hitting, the milestones they’re reaching and wonder why we aren’t there yet.
But I’ve realized that God has each of us exactly where He wants us to be. Our timing isn’t supposed to look like anyone else’s. And the truth is, we never really know what the person we’re comparing ourselves to had to endure to get where they are. Everyone has a story, and everyone has battles they don’t share.
So I’m learning to trust God’s timing, stay in my own lane, and appreciate the journey He has me on.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello Everyone, my name is Lenajah Gaither but my clients calls me Nae. I am a Digital and Flash photographer here in Rock Hill, Sc.
From a young age, my dream was always to be a model. However, I began to wonder what it would be like to be on the opposite side of the camera. I’ve always loved capturing moments both of others and myself throughout my adolescence. No matter what I did to stray away from photography, I always found myself drawn back behind the camera.
After graduating college with a degree in Digital Photography, I knew this was more than just a hobby it was my passion. Through my work, I inspire my clients to be themselves and to leave their sessions feeling confident and empowered. I specialize in family portraits, birthday shoots, business headshots, various events, and more.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God saw me clearly long before I ever saw myself. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me that He already knew the plans He had for my life, plans to prosper me, to give me hope, and a future even when I couldn’t see anything clearly. Before I understood my purpose, my worth, or my identity, God already saw the full picture. He saw who I’d become, what I’d overcome, and the potential He placed inside me.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say to my younger self “ Who knew that shy little girl would grow into someone boldly building confidence and blessing others through her gift? God has used your talent to touch hearts, capture beauty, and shine His light. Keep creating, and keep being exactly who He made you to be.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Authenticity is the cultural value I protect at all costs. In a world where it’s easy to hide behind social media, rushed expectations, and comparison, I choose to show up as my true authentic self and I encourage the people around me to do the same. Protecting authenticity means honoring who I am, where I come from, and most importantly who God created me to be, without watering myself down to fit in.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and all my possessions, what would remain is my integrity the part of me that isn’t defined by titles or things. To me integrity is who I am at my core, my character, my values, and the way I choose to show up when everything else is stripped away. It’s the one thing that can’t be taken from me and the one thing I refuse to compromise.
