Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Abriam Brown of Birmingham

Abriam Brown shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Abriam , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
A recent moment that made me feel truly proud was realizing I had been managing a full course load, working in the funeral profession, and supporting clients at the same time while still growing personally. It hit me that I am not just keeping up, I am thriving. That sense of balance and resilience made me pause, smile, and appreciate how far I have come. Even the small wins, showing up, staying consistent, and making a difference, feel worth celebrating.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Abriam Brown, and I am a personal assistant and founder of The A. Brown Agency LLC. I am also an apprentice funeral director, set to graduate in May 2026 and take my licensing exam the same month. I specialize in providing personalized, professional, and compassionate support, whether assisting clients, managing projects, or creating meaningful funeral experiences. My focus is on making every interaction intentional, impactful, and memorable.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Losing my parents and all of my grandparents shaped how I see the world. It taught me the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. That experience inspired me to help others through their most difficult times with compassion, care, and understanding.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The defining wounds of my life have been losing my parents and all of my grandparents. That level of loss created a deep emptiness, but it also pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. I began healing by allowing myself to feel every part of the grief, leaning on faith, and finding purpose in helping others navigate their own moments of loss. Serving families through funeral service has become part of my healing, because every act of compassion I give honors the love I lost.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The version of me the world sees is real. My professionalism, kindness, and strength are genuine and reflect who I am every day.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who showed up with compassion and care, lifted others in their hardest moments, and left a legacy of kindness and integrity. I want them to feel truly seen and valued.
