Allison Webber shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Allison, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: When was the last time you felt true joy?
This weekend— my family and I put up my new 12ft skeleton and I can honestly say I was jumping around like a child when I saw his eyes light up for the first time. I’ve been wanting to buy one for years, but they’re so expensive and always out of stock. This year, I got one for my birthday. Seems silly, but it’s the little things, right?
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Allison, the green haired stylist. I’m a hairstylist and hair educator based in Charlotte, NC. I’m one of few native to Charlotte who still live here. I specialize in blonding and vivids and teach other hairstylists how to master building their career using Instagram and master their technical skill for vivids and blonding. Currently I’m focusing on virtual education to create affordable education for everyone.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandma, Meme, always has seen me for who I am. She has always seen how powerful, driven, and caring I am, even when I’ve been my most lost. She’s always been there for me and has always supported everything I’ve ever wanted to do.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You will make it. Everything bad that happens always feel so permanent, but it’s always temporary.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is probably the most real me. As much as I try to portray myself as professional, I’m really open about my entire life. Authenticity is an overused word, but I try my hardest to be my realest self because you never know who needs to know they aren’t alone.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would 100% stop caring what others think of me.
